[SOLVED] Windows 7 x86 IE11 Update keeps failing to install with error code 9C48

There is one under Turn Windows Features on or off.

There is only an 'Internet Explorer 11' tickbox and it is unchecked.

Everytime I check it and then close the windows features window and re-open it. The box goes back to being unchecked.

But you do not receive any error messages?

No error messages are displayed. I have tried ticking it and rebooting the machine. If i tick it on and then off I get the message 'Turning off internet explorer 11 might affect other windows features etc etc'

IE Launches fine. I have succeeded in installing updates with the below procedure:

1) Ran the script:

FORFILES /P %WINDIR%\servicing\Packages /M Microsoft-Windows-InternetExplorer-*11.*.mum /c "cmd /c echo Uninstalling package @fname && start /w pkgmgr /upfname /norestart"

2) Uninstalled mcafee virus scan

3) Installed IE11 windows 7 32-bit standalone package

4) Installed all WSUS updates

5) Re-installed Virus Scan
