Windows 8.1 Update 1 failing continuously

Backup your avast settings and try. Good luck! ;)
Also, make sure you have enough space on your hard disk: some replies ago I read "Error HRESULT_FROM_WIN32(ERROR_DISK_FULL)".

I have 75Gb free... Isn't that enough?
I have formated and I'm updating Windows from scratch now... I hate it!

That's plenty :) From what I understand the problem lies with your hidden recovery partition: Windows 7 - The hidden partition

To be honest, I've been drawing blanks with this one and I think a clean install is your best bet at this point.

Sorry I couldn't have been more help!

Tom

Tom, you were a great help. Sorry to have used the word "hate"... But it was against MS and not you (and the others) that are helping for free.
I used to help people in forums for the last 11 years and I know it's a hard work.
About the hidden partition, yes, it was an issue while trying to install Windows 8.1 in a machine that is already running 8.1... It's a joke from MS...
I can't reach the problematic KB update yet as I have plenty updates before, and a lot of reboots :sleep2:

Oh no, I completely understood what you meant and certainly didn't think you were being negative towards me, or anyone else, at all :) I know how frustrating these problems can be!

Fingers crossed all the updates go through!
