I will have to get back to you on this one.

Alex

Thanks for your time and support mate, really appreciated :)

I will wait for your response.

Your welcome.

So far from what I have found out there is not a current fix for this unfortunately. You have one of two options a) bite the bullet and to a repair install b) We can do some testing to try and come up with a solution, but at the same time this might completely fail and we will only be left with option A again.

What's the harm if i continue like it is? I mean I have all my important documents and softwares installed in this and it will take a hell lot of time to reinstall and copy back everything so i am not looking forward to do that.

What if i download an Win 7 image and try repair from that? Will it work and will my data be safe after that?

Thanks again mate

There is most likely no harm. But later down the track you might have issues with Windows updates if they are dependent on these files.

If you do a repair install it should not loose any personal files. The idea of it is not to touch your personal files. I dont want to promise you that you will be fine, as you should know with computers there is no way to 100% known the outcome. When ever I have to recommend a repair install to any user I always recommend to back up everything just in case something goes wrong.

Hi,
I have the same problem:
CORRUPT: C:\Windows\winsxs\amd64_microsoft-windows-s..on-wizard-framework_31bf3856ad364e35_6.1.7601.17514_none_1478eaa56818c3c0\spwizimg.dll
CORRUPT: C:\Windows\winsxs\amd64_microsoft-windows-setup-component_31bf3856ad364e35_6.1.7601.17514_none_905283bdc3e1d2d8\W32UIRes.dll

but could not download the zip file for fix here.
Can you make the link work please?

Thx :)

Found a SFC fix zip that applies to one of the errors above
https://www.sysnative.com/forums/wi...-help-me-fix-corrupted-file-spwizimg-dll.html
https://www.sysnative.com/forums/at...me-fix-corrupted-file-spwizimg-dll-sfcfix-zip
and it worked.
Then rewrote it for the other error.
That seemed to have worked worked too...

...but:
sfc /scannow
says:
Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of th
em.
SFCfix.exe says:
CORRUPT: C:\Windows\winsxs\amd64_microsoft-windows-setup-component_31bf3856ad364e35_6.1.7601.17514_none_905283bdc3e1d2d8\W32UIRes.dll
and that after two attempts each with a different
W32UIRes.dll
21-01-2010
21-11-2010
so there must be at least one other, which hopefully works.
Anyone solved that problem?

Thx :)

Hi Ssntv and anybody reading this.

I am very new to this forum & I meet yall in a very desperate time in my life. I have the exact same problem with these exact same two dll files. The SFCFix.zip fixed one and the other is still not fixed.

The problem in my laptop is, I cannot access my C: drive (where windows is installed) after the first time the windows starts. Its always the green ribbon of death.

I am almost a year late to this post. Were you able to solve this or did you have to reinstall windows? Any help is appreciated.
