yeah I've been thinking about this for a while and it sucks that they are still reporting as corrupted since it took me a whole week searching for the replacement files from very old archived iso's and KBs. Here is the result from the script.

Also for the record, I tried creating a zip and running that to replace the files but they still report as corrupted.
How did you originally replace these files? Did you follow the procedure of placing the files into the appropriate temporary directory and using SURT to make the changes? The steps are outlined in the tutorial and an extract is quoted below:
Fortunately, there is a very neat solution provided for us by Microsoft through the SURT for .cat, .mum, and .manifest files (only these file extensions, unfortunately, due to security reasons, I think).

.cat and .mum files, in pairs (remember that they must always be paired up, even if only one is corrupt), can be placed in the %SystemRoot%\Temp\CheckSur\servicing\Packages directory, and .manifest files can be placed in the %SystemRoot%\Temp\CheckSur\winsxs\Manifests directory, and the System Update Readiness Tool re-run. The SURT will then perform the replacement of corrupt files, sourcing good files from the directories given above, and dealing with all permission issues safely and securely.

The reason for using that approach is to correctly deal with ownership and permissions for the files.

looks like you are right, i have older versions of the packages and I also have the new ones

in this example, I even have 3

All the SURT replacements that you worked so hard to source all relate to build versions that have been superseded. I am not sure why SURT considers them corrupt. There may be some reference to them still in your registry. I'm interested to trace this so will do a search for KB948465 to which nearly half of those .cat files relate to.

FRST Registry Search
1. Click your Start button and type in cmd.
2. After you find the Command Prompt, right click on it and select Run as Administrator.
3. Copy and paste the following into the Command Prompt:

reg load HKLM\COMPONENTS C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\COMPONENTS

4. Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop.
Note: You need to run the 64-bit Version so please ensure you download that one.
5. Run FRST64 by Right-Clicking on the file and choosing Run as administrator.
6. Copy and paste *KB948465* into the Search box and click the Search Registry button.
7. When the scan is complete a notepad window will open with the results. Please attach this to your next reply. It is saved on your desktop named SearchReg.txt.

I already did that and I got no results, same for KB955430. It's both empty when I did the search.

edit: wait sorry I did not load the components file when I did the search. let me redo it

Please provide a list of all your updates:

Open a command prompt (cmd)
Type: wmic output:%userprofile%\desktop\hotfix.txt qfe list

A file hotfix.txt will be generated on your desktop - please upload this into your next post.

There are a number of earlier updates that appear to be missing and I would like to see if they will install

Try KB4022719. Are you OK doing this via DISM using the same process as I explained before?

Each time it is the Package_for_RollupFix error but the versions change for each update.

Please check to see which Package_for_RollupFix versions you have in your C:\Windows\servicing\Packages\ folder

The fact that you have so many confirms that for quite some time your updates have not been installing correctly. A correctly updated system would not have all those rollups present. I would expect to see only the most recent two versions.

To be honest I'm at a loss as to what the best option is to fix this. You could try and uninstall all the recent updates working backwards and hope that at some point it will start working again. There are no error statements showing up in the logs as far as I can see that require fixing.

It might be worth trying to get another person to have a look. @PeterJ has had some recent experience getting this KB4534310 update to work. Peter, over to you if you have the time, please, or alternatively can you provide some guidance?

Hi,

Restart the machine.
Check Windows Update only but do not install any updates yet.
Provide a screenshot of the available important updates first.

Which version of Internet Explorer is installed ?
