Are there any pending updates and does the following file exists: C:\Windows\WinSxS\Pending.xml

I am not aware that there are any pending updates, as we haven't applied updates on this system since we ran into the error.
And yes, the file exists.

Start the

Farbar Recovery Scan Tool again.

Warning: This script was written specifically for this system. Do not run this script on another system.

• Download the attachment fixlist.txt and save it to your desktop.
• Right-click on FRST64.exe and select "Run as administrator".
• Press the Fix button.
• If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally.
• When finished, a log called Fixlog.txt will appear in the same directory the tool is run from.
• Post the logfile Fixlog.txt as attachment in your next reply.

After you helped fix the system, we tried to install updates, but the installation failed.

Then we ran sfc /scannow, and it found corrupted files which it needs a reboot to fix.
Attached is the CBS.LOG. Is it safe to reboot?

Is it safe to reboot?

Yes, please reboot the server first and run the following DISM command and post the result. If it fails attach a new copy of the CBS log.

DISM /online /cleanup-image /RestoreHealth

We have rebooted and status of both sfc and dism seem fine now.
How to check the status of Windows Update? Or shall we just try to install the updates again?
