Is that it? I notice the word "successfully" a few times :) If you have repaired my computer I am very grateful and will be making a donation to help you continue the GREAT work. Do you have any idea how the corruption may have occurred? I use MalwareBytes, Avast etc. as well as Windows Defender. I used Tor to access a local newspaper which had blocked me for being a PIA, then one day I noticed Tor had disappeared. I wasn't too bothered as the Hartlepool Mail isn't that interesting! Thanks again!

Excellent. You are correct, that was success but we are not done yet. I was experimenting with one file to see if I could figure out how to resolve. It appears I did so we need to fix the rest of them. Please do the following. Also, I need to step out for a wedding reception but will be back tonight. We still have a little word to do but the good news is I have a plan.

3. Run FRST64 by Right-Clicking on the file and choosing Run as administrator.
4. Press the Fix button just once and wait. If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.

Nice job. Let's see if all the corruption is resolved.

SFC Scan
  1. Click on the Start
    Start%20Orb.jpg
button and in the search box, type Command Prompt
  2. When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator
  3. When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following commands into it, press enter after each

    sfc /scannow

Wait for this to finish before you continue

    copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log %userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt
  4. This will create a file, cbs.txt on your Desktop. Please attach this to your next post.

Please Note:: if the file is too big to upload to your next post please upload via a service such as Dropbox or One Drive or SendSpace and just provide the link.

Thanks you very much for all your help, I wouldn't have known where to start!
