Hello, Peter! First of all, thank you very much for your efforts! Unfortunately, it didn't work :(

I tried running Windows Update and the same error (80073712) appeared. Then I ran Windows Troubleshooter to check for errors in Windows Update. The tool fixed some errors and started downloading updates, but they got stuck at 5% for hours.

I also tried manually downloading the update using the Microsoft Catalog, but the installation doesn't complete and I receive the message "The update was not installed".

I attempted to use the DISM command to repair Windows Update, but the same issue persists. It can't find the source files. I also used the /LimitAccess switch, but without success.

I also tried updating by performing a clean boot, disabling all non-Microsoft services via MSCONFIG. Without success.

Recently, this warning (attached) has been appearing randomly for me. Could it be related?

You should have stopped there and report it.
Not sure if the explorer.exe error is related.

Attach the file cbs.log to your next reply.

Hello Peter! I'm sorry, I misunderstood! :(

This weekend, my computer updated its drivers, including the integrated graphics card (Intel). As soon as the update finished, the screen turned off and a BSOD (system thread exception not handled igdkmd64.sys) appeared. Since then, I couldn't access Windows to rollback the driver. Unfortunately, I had to use a bootable USB drive with my Windows version to repair this action. I don't know if this action ruined the whole process we did, but it was the only way to recover my computer. Please let me know if it ruined anything. I don't want to bother you.

Well done. Without a working machine we can't do anything.
The attached cbs.log is clean.

Reboot the machine so see if it starts normally again.
If so, does Windows Update display any available important updates ?

Step 2: FRST Registry Search
  1. Click the Start button and choose Control Panel.
  2. In the upper right corner ensure the View by: is set to Category.
  3. Select the Programs group.
  4. Click the Turn Windows features on or off link. This will bring up the Server Manager dialog.
Note: This loads your components hive which is what we want. Please keep this dialog open while you perform the remaining steps. You can minimize it if you wish but keep it open.

  6. Copy and paste KB5020023 into the Search box and click the Search Registry button.
  7. When the scan is complete, a message will display that 'SearchReg.txt' is saved in the same folder FRST was started from. Notepad will open this file also. Close Notepad and attach the file 'SearchReg.txt' to your next reply.
  8. You may close any remaining open windows now.
