Windows Update April KB5012647 Keep Failing with Error Code 0x800f0983

Okay, looks like the actual component folders are also missing as well. I'll have to split the fix into separate batches and then upload them individually to you.

I should have said missing f! marks in my last post rather than files; probably shouldn't post so late!

Could you please create a backup of your current COMPONENTS hive and then replace it with the attached version? Afterwards, could you please run the .NET Framework repair tool which is available here and then let me know the result. I've fixed the COMPONENTS hive as much as I possibly could from my side.

There is a few old servicing stack updates which need to be removed as well since they've been pulled from the update catalog, and therefore I have no reliable means of replacing the missing f! marks in your registry for their associated components. Could you please attempt to remove the following updates using these instructions:
  1. KB5005114
  2. KB5005701
  3. KB5006754
  4. KB5008287
Remove Update Manually
1. Click on the Start button and in the search box, type Command Prompt
2. When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator
3. When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following command into it, and press Enter
wusa /uninstall /KB:5005114

4. Let me know if it says it was successful or if there are any errors.

There seems to be a large amount of payload corruption, most of which belongs to .NET Framework 4.8, could you please attempt to uninstall it and install it again? Afterwards, we can check to see how many system payload files need to be repaired.

What does it say? The update can't be removed?

Could you please provide an unmodified version with the FRST64 file header included? Otherwise, the conversion tool we use won't work correctly.

FRST Fix

1. Download the attached fixlist.txt and save it to the Desktop.
Note. It's important that both files, FRST64 and fixlist.txt are in the same location or the fix will not work (in this case...the desktop).
2. Run FRST64 by Right-Clicking on the file and choosing Run as administrator.
3. Press the Fix button just once and wait. If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.
4. When finished FRST64 will generate a log on the Desktop (Fixlog.txt). Please post the contents of it in your reply.
