Excellent. Now I need an updated COMPONENTS hive. Are you still using Avast as your AV?

Retrieve Components Hive
1. Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\Config and locate the COMPONENTS file.
2. Please copy this file to your desktop.
Note: If you receive an error that this file is in-use, simply reboot your computer and try again.
3. Right-click on this file on your desktop and select Send To...Compressed (zipped) folder. This will create a file named COMPONENTS.ZIP on your desktop.
4. The file will likely be too large to upload here so please upload to SendSpace and just provide the link here.

Please do the following.

Remove Update Manually
1. Click on the Start
Start%20Orb.jpg
button and in the search box, type Command Prompt
2. When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator
3. When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following command into it, press enter
wusa /uninstall /KB:3022345

4. Let me know if it says it was successful or if there are any errors.

Unfortunately an error again (same like a couple of days ago). A message box popped up (see attachment) telling

# The installation program has discovered an error: 0x80073712
# The component repository was damaged.

No problem. Please do the following which should give me what I need.

1. Click your Start button and then type cmd in the search box. Right-click on cmd that comes up in the search results and select Run as administrator.
2. A User Account Control dialog may come up asking for approval. If it does go ahead and allow.
3. A command prompt window will open. Copy/Paste the following into the command-prompt and hit enter.
wmic qfe list brief /format:texttablewsys > "%USERPROFILE%\desktop\hotfix.txt"

4. After the command runs there will be a file on your desktop named hotfix.txt.
5. Please zip/attach this file.

I had to restart my laptop about 30min ago. Guess what, the updates which refused to install with error 0x80073712 at every reboot since weeks did install successfully now. So whatever you did it worked :thumbsup2:

Nevertheless I ran SURT just now and attached the log. There are still lots of errors mentioned in the log, but they don't stop me from updating anymore. So I leave it up to you. Do you think it makes sense to continue and tackle the remaining errors?
