Open an elevated command prompt.
Copy and paste the following commands into it, press enter after each.

Code:
copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log "%userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt"
This will create a file, cbs.txt on your Desktop. Zip this file and attach the zipped cbs.txt to your next post.

I ran Command Prompt as Administrator. copy & paste. Access denied

The screenshot shows you forgot the command copy in copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log "%userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt".
Please redo the instructions in message #22 again.

Please be patient. There are about 1000 broken registry keys to fix.

Do you think the hard drive is corrupt? Is that what's causing the Brad registry entries?

Not now, we have checked that. There maybe a memory issue but please wait for the fix first. It will take a couple days to prepare..

I need a few days more. At first I thought there were about 1000 corruptions to fix. Now I'm at about 80% and have successfully extracted 2700+ corruptions.
Please be patient.

Great.
Restart the computer.
Check Windows Update again and report the result.
If it fails, attach the zipped cbs.log to your next reply.

Step 1:

  1. Download the attachment fixlist.txt and save it to your desktop.
  2. Right-click on FRST64.exe and select "Run as administrator".
  3. Press the Fix button.
  4. The tool will now process fixlist.txt.
  5. If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.
  6. When finished, a log called Fixlog.txt will appear in the same directory the tool is run from.
  7. Post the logfile Fixlog.txt as attachment in your next reply.

Step 2:
Restart the computer.
Check Windows Update again and report the result.
If it fails, attach the zipped cbs.log to your next reply.
