[SOLVED] Windows Update Error code 800B0100 - Unknown Error

Hello again,

Can you run SFC for me once more?

SFC Scan

  1. Press the Windows Key on your keyboard and X to open up the Power User Tasks Menu
  2. Click (or tap) Command Prompt (admin)
  3. When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following commands into it, press enter after each

    sfc /scannow

Wait for this to finish before you continue (approximately 15 minutes)

    copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log %userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt

  4. This will create a file, cbs.txt on your Desktop. Please attach this to your next post.

Windows + X isn't doing anything.
But I'm running sfc via the command prompt as admin.

Also, can I grab the cbs.txt directly from the windows folder? (it's still running)

OK, Win + X was just a quick was of getting to the elevated command prompt.

Let SFC complete, and then run the second command I gave above:

copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log %userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt

in the same command prompt window

SFC has successfully performed some repairs:

Code:
2014-02-07 14:36:15, Info CSI 0000038d [SR] Verify and Repair Transaction completed. All files and registry keys listed in this transaction have been successfully repaired

Does SP1 install now?

Hooray! Talking to you on SP1!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Now, as we talked via PM, the reason I formatted the pc was this strange "No signal after Windows Logo" issue.
I saved the instructions you gave-me and if this happens again, I'll at least know what log to save! Hehehe

Now I have 81 important updates to do. Wish me luck!

And again: THANK YOU!

That's fantastic news!

Ok, great. If it does occur again, just post back in this thread and we'll go from there. Fingers crossed it'll be fine though! :)

Marked as solved for now!
