Hello All,

Hopefully someone can help me I wan to to upgrade a old Windows 2008 R2 server to Service Pack 1 and the update fails with corrupted problems.

We download the SFCFix to try to resolve the corruptions but only one CBS & SFC corruption was corrected, we still have 171 SURT corruptions that we can't correct, pleas can someone help us?

Thanks.

Please do the following:

Retrieve Components Hive
1. Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\Config and locate the COMPONENTS file.
2. Please copy this file to your desktop.
Note: If you receive an error that this file is in-use, simply reboot your computer and try again.
3. Right-click on this file on your desktop and select Send To...Compressed (zipped) folder. This will create a file named COMPONENTS.ZIP on your desktop.
4. The file will likely be too large to upload here so please upload to a file sharing service. Examples of services to upload to are Dropbox or OneDrive or SendSpace and then just provide the link in your reply.

HI softwaremaniac,

We are running step 3 Surt/dism scan and later we try to run your tool again, but in the first run we doesn't run without sysnative server connection and now when we try to run with server connection we don't have a option, Can we change the tool to use server connection? Is it important? If yes please tell us instructions.

When step3 and 4 finish we will upload all files again (we need reboot the server to copy components file) step 5

Thanks for your help

Hi softwaremaniac,

With the new execution of the SURT/DISM tools now the SFCFix show less SURT Corruptions.

I Just upload the components file and a new CBS logs folder.
