[SOLVED] Windows update not functioning.

Good day,
Windows 7 Enterprise SP1 64 bit operating system.

Windows update has not functioned for 3 months, it runs for days without any response.

I have run the following tools in an attempt to repair,

WindowsUpdateDiagnostic.diagcab which describes a problem as below. Attached file CheckSURLog.Cab
Windows6.1-KB947821-v34-x64 (SUR) - find attached 'CheckSUR.log'
I have uninstalled AVAST usings windows uninstall tool and used AVAST removal tool. Re-run CheckSUR which shows the same error files.
I have run your standard SFCFix.exe.

Attached find CBS.log, CheckSUR.log, CheckSURLog.Cab & SFCFix.txt

I hope this helps for any advice that you could provide.

Thanks for the suggestion - I went through the thread, but I do not have any errors after SFC /SCANNOW command.
I only see fault in CheckSUR.log. I am reluctant to run those SFCFix scripts as I do not see the Manifest Corruption.

Did find high Wuauserv usage in memory and CPU.
Tried to install the KB's at krelay.de, one was already installed the other not.
However no change in update status, CheckSUR.log indicates the same fault.

Alright, I'll need to take a look at your COMPONENTS Hive.

Follow the instructions below to retrieve your COMPONENTS Hive and send me it.
  • Open your Windows Explorer, and navigate to the C:\Windows\System32\Config folder;
  • In this folder, find the COMPONENTS file (there's no extension), and copy it to your Desktop;
    Note: If you receive an error message saying that the COMPONENTS file is in use, restart your computer and try again. If the error message persist, let me know.
  • Right-click on it, and select Send to... and choose Compressed (zipped) folder;
  • Upload the file on Dropbox, Google Drive or OneDrive and post the download URL for it here;

SFCFix - Fix Time
