On a tangent. You ever been to the F1 races at the GP?
No unfortunately not, and in 2020 the Dutch GP at Zandvoort was cancelled because of Covid / lockdows etc! The last GP here was in 1985, but then I was three years old. But how do you know that I'm a big fan of the Formula 1? Do you have a crystal bal or something like that? ;)

On-topic:
Are you able to use another Adminisrator account to check if you update this system?

I had no idea you are an F1 fan. My wife and I just recently got into F1. My Nephew got us into it. We then watched the Netflix series and the Senna series. We were fortunate to see the Vegas GP and saw Verstappen win the drivers championship. We are planning a trip to England to queue up to see Wimbledon and will head up to Silverstone to see the GP. We haven't missed a race on TV since getting hooked.

I did try running the updates with a couple different admin accounts with the same results. Thanks

Ayrton Senna was a legend, and I still remember the first day of may 1994 when he badly crashed and died! That weekend was also (black) laden with death the of Roland Ratzenberger at 30 April the day before the GP during the qualifying session. And Rubens Barichello has also a big crash that weekend, but fortunately he survived that crash!

I'll never forget this footage, Senna was still watching the crash of Barichello at Friday! Not knowing that he will crash that badly on Sunday. No words for it and goosebumps all over again!:cry:

Are you able to disconnect this server completely from the WSUS/SCCM server.

Wow. You know your F1. Thanks for sharing the link. I don't remember that day but the show we watched on Netflix did a pretty good job of depicting his life and impact on F1.

I removed SCCM from the server. The standalone installer still fails as well as Windows Updates. I have attached the latest logs. Thanks

Hi,

Please try to update again with Process Monitor running.

Step#1 - Capture Process Monitor Trace
1. Download and run Process Monitor. Leave this running while you perform the next steps.
2. Try updating the system just like you have in the past.
3. Stop Process Monitor a minute after it fails, just to be sure everything is logged. You can simply do this by clicking the capture icon (CTRL +E) on the toolbar as shown below.

Process-Monitor.png

4. Select the File menu...Save... and save the file to your desktop. This is likely the default location. The name (unless changed) will be LogFile.PML. This is fine.
5. Zip up the LogFile.PML and upload it to WeTransfer | Send Large Files Fast - Up To 2GB Free and provide the link.
6. Upload also the latest CBS log for the time stamps.

1. How many memory is assigned to this server when it's an VM, or how many memory is installed when it's an physical server?
2. How many free space is available?

It is configured for 32 G of memory. This issue is probably SQL server using most of the memory. I will need to do some reconfiguring so I can capture the processes and report back to you. Thanks!!!!

Yes, SQL may use a lot of resources and/or RAM. While updating, I always switch off that kind of services / features to have a clean boot as well and to avoid rollbacks!

Hey Maxstar. I was waiting for maintenance windows. I then forgot I can use a disk based backing file and not memory. So I did that. Here is the cbs logs and the process logs.
