[SOLVED] [WinServer2012R2Upd3 x64] Error While trying to update

Re: Error While trying to update Windows Server 2012

May I confirm that you have a properly licensed copy of Windows and a properly licensed copy of Microsoft Office?

Also, please do the following.

Step#1 - SFCFix Script
Warning: this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.
  1. Download SFCFix.exe (by niemiro) and save this to your Desktop. If you still have this on your desktop from downloading previously, you don't need to re-download.
  2. Download the file below, SFCScript.txt, and save this to your Desktop.
  3. Save any open documents and close all open windows.
  4. On your Desktop, you should see two files: SFCFix.exe and SFCScript.txt.
  5. Drag the file SFCScript.txt onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it.
  6. SFCFix will now process the script.
  7. Upon completion, a file should be created on your Desktop: SFCFix.txt.
  8. Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of this file into your next post for me to analyse please

Hi
Thank you for your support

please note that my windows is licensed and we have open license agreement with Microsoft

If you see in the logs that my Windows license is not vaild , please let me know and I will contact Microsoft for that

I believe it is Microsoft Office that is unlicensed. If that is the case and we are able to remove that program we can continue to troubleshoot.

Please do the following.

2. Download attached file and save it to the Desktop.
Note. It's important that both files, FRST64 and fixlist.txt are in the same location or the fix will not work (in this case...the desktop).
3. Run FRST64 by Right-Clicking on the file and choosing Run as administrator.
4. Press the Fix button just once and wait. If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.
5. When finished FRST64 will generate a log on the Desktop (Fixlog.txt). Please post the contents of it in your reply.

Thanks for the information. I would like to have you do a few things.

1. Please uninstall GFI WebMonitor 10 until we resolve your issue.
2. Please zip/attach the following two logs.
C:\Windows\WindowsUpdate.log
C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\ReportingEvents.log

3. Currently your DNS servers are set to 172.16.10.2. Can you tell me what this points to? Is it a firewall? Another server?

Thanks.

Hi
Thank you for your support
Sorry for the delay as I was trying to reach GIP Webmonitor Support cause I face issue during uninstall, I will finalize it with them soon, I will update you once I uninstall it.

Please find the logs in this link MEGA

For the DNS it is pointing to the Domain Controler, which has DNS installed on it.

Thank you

OK, let me know once you get that uninstalled.

Also, please let me know if you are able to download the environment.cab from the following location.

Hi

I would like to inform you that after removing GFI, Windows update starts working again and the issue I was facing in browsing " Your connection is not secure" solved as well.

Seems that GFI caused a lot of trouble,

Many thanks for your contribution and support on my issue :rofl12:
