[SOLVED] Yet another high DPC latency thread (Wdf0100.sys, tcpip.sys). After some hours the network slows down. FIX: uninstall malwarebytes (until they fix it)

I'm on the latest set of drivers and firmware (for all system components). They are always pushed via Windows Updates for this device...

I'm also using Intel USB 3.0 drivers instead of the generic Microsoft ones. Intel drivers are significantly more optimized for my xHCI controller. It is sort of helping reduce latency a slight bit, but not entirely because the Ethernet controller is still causing DPC spikes.

I checked your net driver version and it says "MSUX64W10.SYS (10.13.1030.2019, 694.87 KB (711,544 bytes), 12/1/2019 10:53 PM)".
Later on internet I searched a new version and it seems there's a "10.14.0117.2020" version (hence 17 Jan 2020); therefore I thought you didn't install new drivers.
Could it be a new windows update?

Very interesting! These drivers haven't been pushed via Windows Update yet. I will manually install and report back.

Never mind, I actually already had it. Looks like it was pushed a few Windows Updates ago...

Bingo - we have found the culprit! It was Malwarebytes. Coincidentally, I found a month old thread on Malwarebytes forum with someone describing similar slowdown issues (OP's issues began around the same time as mine did):

Malwarebytes is slowing Windows PCs, I'd like to know why

I think it is becoming pretty apparent - from my own experience - and from what I am reading on Malwarebytes forum... that their software started causing latency issues after a recent Windows Update that was pushed just over a month ago (at the same time that I started experiencing issues).

In the meantime I used Malwarebytes official clean tool to completely remove it from my system, and ran a new latency test after letting the PC idle overnight:

As you see - the test ran for just over 40 minutes, after the PC idled for many hours... and no more latency spikes caused by tcpip.sys and NDIS.sys!

Thank you so much for all your help! If you don't mind - please leave this thread unlocked and I'll post a follow-up once Malwarebytes fixes the issue on their end. I have a 5 year license for their software and I'd like to eventually be able to use it again... (as I'm sure many others would like to also).

Hi new user here! I have been searching for a solved thread like this for quite some time and I've finally found it! but to no avail. i have tried every step anyone has ever given me and the wdf01000 problem still occurs. i use my laptop for audio engineering purposes and this affects my playback on any daw(ableton, protools and fl studio). if someone could please give me more suggestions to what this problem could be then i would be more than grateful. ill be checking ever so often!

cheers,

Callum
