Hello Gibbo, and welcome to Sysnative :)

Can you please describe what exactly the problem is?

Then,

Export CBS folder

  1. Click the Start button
    StartButton_16x16.gif
    then click Computer.
  2. Double-click on the C: drive, under the Hard Disk Drives category, and then scroll down to, and double click on the Windows folder.
  3. Find and double click on the Logs folder.
  4. Right-click on the CBS folder, and select Copy.
  5. Go back to your Desktop, right-click on it, and select Paste. You should now see a copy of the CBS folder appear on your Desktop called CBS.
  6. Right-click on this new folder, and navigate through Send to, and select Compressed (zipped) folder.
  7. A new file, also called CBS (CBS.zip), but this time with a different icon, will be created.
Attach the CBS.zip file created as instructed below.
  • Click the paper clip icon in the topic toolbar which will open a new window.
  • Click Add Files in the upper right corner
  • Click Select Files
  • Navigate to your desktop and select the saved zip file (i.e., C:\Users\{Your Username}\Desktop\CBS.zip)
  • The attached file will be highlighted and have a check mark in the box.
  • Click Done.

Good luck!

Richard

Hi, Gibbo.

In order to assist you with your problem, please see Richard's instructions above for exporting and attaching the CBS.log.

Thank you.

Hello again :)

You have one small corruption. It doesn't look like anything too major.

This post will just get a few bits of information about the file in question so I can put together a fix for you.

Download SFCFix.exe and save this to your Desktop: https://www.sysnative.com/forums/downloads/sfcfix/
Download the SFCFixScript.txt file attached to this post, and save it to your Desktop also.

Go to your Desktop and single click on SFCFixScript.txt, drag it on top of SFCFix.exe, and release.

SFCFix will open and get that extra information about the file in question. Once it has finished (1-2 minutes max), it will open a logfile. Please copy and paste the logfile into your next post.

Thank you!

Richard

Thank you very much for that log. Let's begin the fix. Please download the attached SFCFixScript.zip to your Desktop, and drag and drop it on top of SFCFix.exe, just like you did last time.

When a logfile opens, please copy and paste it here.

That is extremely kind of you. All of us are volunteers, and we donate our time for free, and we most certainly never expect any donation. However, the server costs a lot of money to keep running, and without the server, there would be no sysnative.com.

I will continue to work to resolve your issue, and hopefully we will be able to get to the bottom of it soon. However, if you would like to donate to keep the website running, we would all be extremely grateful.

Hello again :)

You did it perfectly the second time. Unfortunately, the script failed to complete due to a small bug in SFCFix. I am currently at work, and cannot fix SFCFix here. Can you please bear with me until this evening so I can make the script work?

Thank you for your patience,

Richard

Look awesome :) Can you please re-run SFC and confirm whether or not your problem is resolved? Thank you!

Yep doing it now

Thanks :)

How do you reckon i would iv got this problem mate

It is impossible for me to be sure. However, the good news is that it does not look to be either infection or particularly concerning hardware failure. Yes, I can't guarantee that it isn't either of these, but it doesn't look to be.

It appears to be just a sporadic failure, and I don't think it will give you any grief in the future. Anything from a power failure, to the updating process failed to completely copy the file, or a small section of disk went bad under normal wear & tear, etc. etc.

Basically, I cannot give you a definite answer, unfortunately. However, I do not believe it to be anything particularly concerning. I think it was just a one off bit of bad luck, personally. Obviously, you should have good backups of your data, just in case this is an indication of something to come, but personally, I do not think there is enough evidence to be particularly concerned.
