Sysnative Support,
Cannot recall when SFC could last successfully check system files.
Have been trying to resolve this problem since April this year.
Suspect something downloaded caused my registry corruption.
Once corrected I'll be sure from now on to keep a registry backup.
System performs as expected for my daily computing tasks, though not as responsive as it used to be.
It's only that I can't get the 'sfc /scannow' command to complete, reporting that system files check okay.
When 'sfc /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth' is executed, I get a report of error 1009 and configuration registry corruption.
Apparently the registry is only slightly compromised as I'm able to boot into Windows 8.1 without any problem.
Enclosed are files for Sysnative analysis that should expose what's causing the problem and hopefully a resolution
that will fix the registry.
The system has no malware as best I can determine using Malwarebytes and Comodo Internet Security suite.
Recall that the system boots into Windows 8.1 without any problem.
And 'Safe Mode' execution of SFC commands fails to solve anything.
Matter of fact SFC command responses are the same whether executed in 'Normal Mode' or 'Safe Mode'.
The enclosed files for analysis are as follows.
1. 'Paint' '.png' file showing result of running Niemiro's 'sfcfix' utility
2. 'cbs.log' file as result of running 'dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth' command on 7/31/15.
3. 'components' file of registry using 'RegBak' on 8/31/15.
Because of attachment file size limitations the files are at OneDrive link https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=5387CC34612C8795!105.
NOTE: 'cbs.log' file shows results for both dates 7/31/15 and 8/1/15.
The 8/1/15 addendum being the results of trying to run Niemiro's 'SFCfix' utility.
System is a Dell '2-in-1' Inspiron 13-4374 laptop running Windows 8.1 (64 bit) with 8GB memory.
