Hello, I have been trying to fix this error for a week now, I even had MS tier 3 tech support trying to help me. BTW they are all worthless. I spoke to Tier 1 , tier 2 and Tier 3 and ill tell ya THEY ALL are the same.....their only recommendation is to reinstall windows.

I do have to mention something halarous to me.....so we were reviewing my CBS log and the tier 3 tech ( i still cant belive he said this) guy says to me, sir, I see your problem, you have a Intel processor and this log says you have a AMD processor.

Cannot repair member file [l:18{9}]"MSDTC.LOG" of Microsoft-Windows-COM-DTC-Runtime, Version = 6.1.7600.16385, pA = PROCESSOR_ARCHITECTURE_AMD64 (9), Culture neutral, VersionScope = 1 nonSxS, PublicKeyToken = {l:8 b:31bf3856ad364e35}, Type neutral, TypeName neutral, PublicKey neutral in the store, file is missing

At that very second I realized I was not speaking to a so called tier 3 tech. He swore up and down that this was the problem, but after I got him to shut up......I explained to A TIER 3 tech why AMD was mentioned and gave him a link to wikiki and it quickly shut him down. I dont know what is going on over are MS, but they have gone from BAD to worse ....VERY BAD WORSEST ! ( actully not a word).

Anyways.......i need your help badly, here is my CBS log and i also ran a SFCfix log. it seems the MSDTC.log file is missing?

Thanks,

Scott

Sorry , I forgot to mention this is Windows 7 ultimate . Dism/online/cleanupImage /restorehealth is not a valid command with win7. I wish .... And I've already tried the other two ms download fixes , they didn't work and I even reset and restarted msdtc services.

ok that didnt work. it still says Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them.

Also i tried to do a inplace upgrade / non destructive reinstall today. It went all the way through the process and then at the very last min, it gave me some error and said that the upgrade/reinstall failed and it reverted back to the way it was prior to me starting the process.

I have also reinstalled clean, windows 7 at least 4-5 times and then once i am done with all the MS updates........230 of them give or take a few, then i start getting this MSDTC log error.

Let's see if we can get some more information about which file is being detected.
Please run SFC again, then when it has completed zip and attach CBS.log with your reply.

I have a question, can you give me any incite on why MS doesn't fix this error that seems to plague a lot of users? Why is it when you talk to them these days, it seems that they are ALL clueless and not trained? I been talking to supposedly a tier 3 tech and some of the things that he says to me is just totally shocking. This tier 3 tech recently tried to tell me my problem was that OS /windows was seeing that I had a AMD processor when i have a INTEL processor. I could not believe I had to explain to a tier 3 tech the history of AMD and Intel and why he was seeing AMD info in my logs. He tried to argue with me for 10 min until I told him to PLEASE stop talking and go ask one of your managers or one of his tier 1 buddies lol. He came back after 10 min and didnt say much.......I said......"well? What did you find out"? He says to me..........."well sir you were right. But I still think that is the problem, and I recommend you reinstall windows". LOL>>>>>>> I hung up. Its almost like they just hired a bunch of idiots off the street and gave them a "WINDOWS for dummies book" .......... I will tell you from first hand experience, that tier 1,2 and 3 know less about windows then my 13 year old son. THERE ONLY solution to ANY issue is to reinstall windows.

strange.....i looked at new CBS and now i dont see the MSDTC error but i see new errors.........why cant i get it to do a inplace reinstall?

Sorry, things have been very busy.

I'm guessing that it is easier for Microsoft to immediately recommend a repair install when corruption is discovered rather than spend the time training each of their support technicians how to read the log files and fix the problems individually.

Looks like the MSDTC.log is fixed, but as you suspected there are more files that have been detected.

SFCFix Script

Warning: this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.

 1. Download SFCFix.exe (by niemiro) and save this to your Desktop.
 2. Download the file below, SFCFix.zip, and save this to your Desktop. Ensure that this file is named SFCFix.zip - do not rename it.
 3. Save any open documents and close all open windows.
 4. On your Desktop, you should see two files: SFCFix.exe and SFCFix.zip.
 5. Drag the file SFCFix.zip onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it.
 6. SFCFix will now process the script.
 7. Upon completion, a file should be created on your Desktop: SFCFix.txt.
 8. Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of this file into your next post for me to analyse please - put

tags around the log to break up the text.

Download SFCFix.zip from Sendspace.com - send big files the easy way

i have tried to use DISM directed at a matched .wim file but nothing seems to fix it. Any ideas what caused it and how to rectify it. Thanks in advance.
