[SOLVED] SFC /scan now or windows update not working

Windows 7
SFC not working Windows update not working.
Also tried the Windows Readyness tool. No help
Also tried the tweaking.com Windows repair tool.
Also tried inplace Windows 7 upgrade via iso usb and upgrade to Windows 10 via usb iso.

have you recently any components or run a memory test on this computer?

I'd like to take a look at the components hive.

Please manually upload the components hive by following these instructions:

Upload Components Hive

Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\config
Right-click on the current COMPONENTS file and select copy
Note: If you get an error that the file is in use, reboot your computer and then try again.
Right-click on your Desktop and select paste
Right-click on the COMPONENTS file on your Desktop and select Send To -> Compressed (zipped) Folder
Upload the zip from your Desktop to a file sharing service such as DropBox, OneDrive, SendSpace, etc. and include the link with your reply.

I did have a bad memory chip. I replaced that chip and ran the sfc fix with the same negative result.

SFCFix Script

On your Desktop, you should see two files: SFCFix.exe and SFCFix.zip.
Drag the file SFCFix.zip onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it.
SFCFix will now process the script.
Upon completion, a file should be created on your Desktop: SFCFix.txt.
Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of this file into your next post for me to analyse please - put [CODE][/CODE] tags around the log to break up the text.

Looks good for the components hive. I'd like to look at the Component Based Servicing branch of the Software hive for the rest of the errors.

Export Component Based Servicing

Click on the Start button and in the search box, type regedit
When you see regedit on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator
When regedit opens, using the left pane, navigate to the following registry key and select it by clicking on it once.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Component Based Servicing\
Once selected, click File > Export....
Change the Save as type: to Registry Hive Files (*.*)
Name this file ComponentBasedServicing (with no file extension) and save it to your Desktop.
Right Click on the ComponentBasedServicing file on your Desktop and choose Send To -> Compressed (Zipped) Folder.

Once done please upload ComponentBasedServicing.zip via DropBox OneDrive or SendSpace

Download SFCFix.exe (by niemiro) and save this to your Desktop.
Download the file below, SFCFix.zip, and save this to your Desktop. Ensure that this file is named SFCFix.zip - do not rename it.
Save any open documents and close all open windows.
On your Desktop, you should see two files: SFCFix.exe and SFCFix.zip.
Drag the file SFCFix.zip onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it.
SFCFix will now process the script.
Upon completion, a file should be created on your Desktop: SFCFix.txt.

Capture Process Monitor Trace

Download and run Process Monitor. Leave this running while you perform the next steps.
Attempt to run SFC /ScanNow just like you have in the past.
Stop Process Monitor about 30 seconds after SFC fails. You can simply do this by clicking the magnifying glass on the toolbar.
Select the File menu...Save... and save the file to your desktop. This is likely the default location. The name (unless changed) will be LogFile.PML. This is fine.
Zip up and attach the LogFile.PML file as well as your CBS.log.
If these files are larger than 8MB, please use a file sharing service such as OneDrive, DropBox, SendSpace, etc. and include the link with your reply.

Hmm... I'm not finding what I'd like to see.
Let's try the following:

Command Prompt

Warning: this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.

Click on the Start

button and in the search box, type Command Prompt
When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator

Capture Process Monitor Trace

Download and run Process Monitor. Leave this running while you perform the next steps.
Copy the following commands and paste them into the command window one at a time, pressing enter after each.

net stop wuauserv

net start wuauserv

sfc /scannow
