[SOLVED] [10ProV1511b14393 x64] Installation has failed for update v1511 to v1709

Re: [W10 Pro v1511] Installation has failed for update v1511 to v1709

Software, it worked with the assistant, but mid update it crashed, I reopened it and after a while the 85% error happened but the logfile is 5gb size. Do I have to not be doing anything else on the PC while updating and recording so that it is not so heavy?

zip it up now, upload it somewhere and paste the link along with your CBS.log and setuperr.log

I have an idea. Go to regedit and navigate to this key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\WIMMount. When done, take a screenshot.

Aha, double click the ImagePath value and paste this in under Value Data: system32\drivers\wimmount.sys

Re: [W10 Pro v1511] Installation has failed for update v1511 to v1709

That did help a lot, it got to around 43% and then installation has failed. But its a great step forward! Can I provide anything else that might help?

Again the same two logs settupact and setuperr.log please.
Also, which method did you try?

Sure, here they are. That was with the 1709v ISO. Currently attempting with Update Assistant to see what error code I get, but it does take much longer because of the downloading.

I would recommend that you disconnect your printer during the upgrade process as I can see there were errors during the upgrade related to it.

It happens to be a wireless printer, should I disable it from the control panel?

Re: [W10 Pro v1511] Installation has failed for update v1511 to v1709

I have attached the setuperr and setupact for when using the update assistant, it gets to around 90% and throws the same error as when we started (0x8007001F). This is after uninstalling the printer. Going to try the iso again without the priner to see how far in it gets.

Do the following:
Disconnect and unplug (if wired connection) your computer from the network, and try using the iso we have previously created. Also, make sure you disconnect all non-essential devices from your computer during the upgrade.

Re: [W10 Pro v1511] Installation has failed for update v1511 to v1709

After doing that something different happened. I am not sure if I didnt notice before since I was also doing things at the same time but it usually takes a long time at 35%, then it suddenly goes up really fast and even though I do get the error, this last time it said "Preparing to restart your pc" or something like that, after reaching 100%.

Re: [W10 Pro v1511] Installation has failed for update v1511 to v1709

I was attempting to see if 1511 to 1607 would work..it did until the pc restart, it was configuring updates, pc restarts again and now I get these two screens in a never ending loop. Anything I could do about this? I could only log on to Safe mode with networking. Should I go back to previous build? I dont have any system restore images, for some reason. I also removed all peripherals to see if it worked, as they recommend that with this happening, but it didnt work. When in safe mode if I check winver I get version 1607, so Im not sure why its not working. I had 64bit system and installed 64bit 1607.

Appreciate the help :)
