[SOLVED] [10v1709b16299 x64] Windows keeps installing the same updates

Re: Windows keeps installing the same updates - Windows 10 home 64 bit 1709 (16299.19

Hi there. So I’m following the instructions and my laptop just reboot. The login screen has come - my fingerprint scanner is NOT an option ( so no Windows Hello). My only option is to enter my password which I did but it’s telling me my password is incorrect -it is correct.

This exact issue happened before and is what prompted me to contact bleeding computer and then yourself - I had to go through the process of changing my password in order to access my laptop. Is this something I should do and continue following the instructions above or is this part of any issue being checked ?

Yes, if that's what you need to do in order to access Safe Mode then go ahead and do that to continue with my previous instructions.

Hey there - so that’s going to take some time. I changed my password and reboot into safe mode again and I get the same error that my password is incorrect. So I’m going to need to contact Microsoft.

Hi! Sorry about the delay. I managed to boot into safe mode and log in.

I followd the remainder of the steps listed above. It did a bunch of things and then shut down.

That’s where we are now

OK, good. Power up your computer and log in. Then check for Windows Updates again and let me know if it appears the same as before.

Please do the following.

FRST Fix
NOTICE: This script was written specifically for this user, for use on that particular machine. Running this on another machine may cause damage to your operating system
1. Download attached file and save it to the Desktop.
Note. It's important that both files, FRST64 and fixlist.txt are in the same location or the fix will not work (in this case...the desktop).
2. Run FRST64 by Right-Clicking on the file and choosing Run as administrator.
3. Press the Fix button just once and wait. If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.
4. When finished FRST64 will generate a log on the Desktop (Fixlog.txt). Please post the contents of it in your reply.

Don't look at the update history, just check for Windows Updates and let me know what shows up.

Hi there - sorry for the delay in responding - but i figured it would be easier to show you what's happening rather than trying to explain. Here's a link to a video of what happens when i click Check for updates. Dropbox - File Jan 21, 11 27 31 AM.mov

If i checked for updates 5 times today, it would this exact thing 5 times.

So - i already ran that earlier in the instructions and uninstalled office earlier- i don't have (that i'm aware of) any office products on my laptop ?

I understand you don't have Office installed. Just trying to get remnants. Did you actually run the easy fix tool when you uninstalled office?
