There may be, a way, but with a damaged HDD I cannot guarantee more problems won't come up. If you would like to run the additional extended test, please make sure you backup everything before executing it.
And yes, you can delete the folder in temp.
This is strange since I am not experiencing any problems except for this Windows Update one. I will make a backup of my entire HDD.
Do you recommend to continue with the fix or just ignore the issue and not receive Windows Updates?
I will probably buy another laptop soon so this one will be used less, how bad is the damage? Do I really need to buy a HDD asap?
That I cannot determine, I had HDDs die on my in a few days, and I've had them work for a few years. There is no way to tell really, but backup your data.
I would definitely recommend fixing this.
Okay, tomorrow I'll backup my data. If you want you can already give me the next instructions, so I can follow them right after the backup has finished. Thank you again for your help.

This morning the process had finished and it asked me to reboot, so I did. The uninstall progress was displayed on the classic Windows 7 login/shutdown screen. I just came back to check. Step#1 - ChkDsk Scan 1. Click your Start Orb in the lower left of your computer and type cmd in the search box. 2. Once the cmd program is found, right-click on it with your mouse and select Run as administrator.
3. Answer Yes when asked to allow. 4. You should now have a black window open that you can type in to. 5. Please type chkdsk and then press enter. 6. Chkdsk will start to run. Please allow it to finish. 7. Download ListChkdskResult.exe by SleepyDude and save it on your desktop. If it's already downloaded to your desktop, just skip this step. 8. Right-click this file and select Run as administrator (Allow if prompted) and a text file will open (and also be saved on the desktop as ListChkdskResult.txt). Please copy the contents of this file and paste into your next post.
