I think that the problem is solved! After a long search Windows Update found 154 important updates and 6 optional ones, should I install all of them? All at once?

That's great! Only important ones for now and do not install any that say Preview of... If any fail, try a smaller batch and then an even smaller until you succeed with some. If all fail, attach CBS.log for me to review.

After a couple of tries I successfully installed all the updates, even the optional ones (except one that was a preview). Is there anything else I should do now? I can't thank you enough for the assistance you gave me, solving this problem always seemed impossible!
