  7. Upon completion, a file should be created on your Desktop: SFCFix.txt.

Re: KB4056895 and other installation problems

After downloading KB4074595 and installing. The computer was restarted and the computer stated that "We couldn't complete the update Getting ready to retry" After restarting twice the computer showed:
"Getting computer ready
Undoing changes".
That's what I mean by finalizing the installation. I will explain myself better next time.
Here's new CBS.zip log file as requested. Cheers.

Re: KB4056895 and other installation problems

Sorry it didn't make any difference with firewall off.

Turned firewall off.
I checked for updates, downloaded KB4074594 which was installed and restarted the PC to finish installing. After restarting several times get message--We couldn't complete the update--Undoing changes.
Then turned firewall back on.

Re: KB4056895 and other installation problems

It is clean, did not see any black exclamation point on a yellow background, similar to a caution sign.

Re: KB4056895 and other installation problems

Step#1 - FRST Scan
1. Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop.
Note: You need to run the 64-bit Version so please ensure you download that one.
2. Right click to run as administrator. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
3. Please ensure you place a check mark in the Addition.txt check box at the bottom of the form before running (if not already).
4. Press Scan button.
5. It will produce a log called FRST.txt in the same directory the tool is run from (which should now be the desktop)
6. Please copy and paste log back here.
7. Another log (Addition.txt - also located in the same directory as FRST64.exe) will be generated Please also paste that along with the FRST.txt into your reply.

Re: KB4056895 and other installation problems

Here's zip file for setupapi.dev.log. If it would solve this 8.1 update problem I'm okay with upgrading to Windows 10 but like to get the Pro version, as it would solve some other computer problems.
