BSOD and MMC not working, cannot update, 4 blank icons in control panel

Thanks, I'm hoping Richard can help me as well. I didn't type any of the results, only copy and paste...I hope the sad face doesn't mean "you are hosed!"

Hi Richard, I know you are busy, but have you had a chance to review my SFCFixScript results? Everyday i am noticing something else i can't do. You mentioned a multi-part fix. Thanks so much, Dianne

Hello, I'm sorry to be requesting again for someone to please respond to me again, the last i heard from anyone was on 6/29 when Richard asked me to run SFCFix.exe, I posted my results and haven't heard back. I know you are all busy and I appreciate the help thus far, could someone please respond to my results as soon as you have the opportunity. My problems are getting worse, and I would like to try and resolve this before I'm rendered useless. Thanks so much. Dianne

Yes, also updates aren't installing, which i can't even see how many are piling up, as that is one of the icons not working, the blank icons i can't see, but there are many icons within CP that don't work, other smaller issues, I'm assuming related to this, such as not being able to attach anything in mail (i can still drag them), can't install my printer, desktop manager, no admin access, no mcc.. Thank you for your response.

I did run and post these test results previously. i am running it now, how long is it suppose to say "waiting for system info with the blinking cursor, it seems to be finished but I'm not sure.

just an fyi, i cannot run driver verification because i can't creat a restore point, HDD diagnostics can't access
devmgmt.msc, I tested ram, 8 passes, no issues. Is there a reason why the results of my SFCFix.txt have been abandoned as a possible fix? Richard had mentioned the issues with CLSID permissions could be an easy fix, to try the SFCFix.exe to try and repair the CLSID permissions
, and that it would be a 2 part fix. All my failed installations refer to not being able to access CLSID keys, as mentioned in previous posts, I checked the registry and there are about 50+ keys that cannot be accessed or changed. (An error is preventing this key from being opened in registry.Permissions the requested security info is either unavailable or can’t be displayed). I understand that Richard is very busy but this was back on June 29th that he asked me to run the repair. Would those keys have something to do with the blank administrative tools icon in control panel, and the other 4 blank icons? I thank you for your time. Dianne

Hello again.

I am so sorry for the delay. Do you have any other CLSIDs as an example? The point is, that CLSID didn't exist in the registry. If possible, can you slot in the CLSID were it says HERE in the below script, save it as a .txt file, and then run it using SFCFix. With 2 more if you have 2 more.

Code:
RegistryTakePermissions::
HKCR\CLSID\{HERE}\inprocserver32
HKCR\CLSID\{HERE}
HKCR\CLSID

RegistryRestorePermissions::
HKCR\CLSID\{HERE}\inprocserver32
HKCR\CLSID\{HERE}
HKCR\CLSID

PrintDataBlocks::

Like so:

Code:
RegistryTakePermissions::
HKCR\CLSID\{cd5da7be=393d-422c-818c-1273327c23c5}\inprocserver32
HKCR\CLSID\{cd5da7be=393d-422c-818c-1273327c23c5}
HKCR\CLSID

RegistryRestorePermissions::
HKCR\CLSID\{cd5da7be=393d-422c-818c-1273327c23c5}\inprocserver32
HKCR\CLSID\{cd5da7be=393d-422c-818c-1273327c23c5}
HKCR\CLSID

PrintDataBlocks::

How many CLSIDs in total do you have a problem with? The deal is, the last one was missing from the registry entirely. And this might actually be your problem: you could have a missing CLSID problem. Now, if you have a permissions problem, I can fix them in bulk. If you have a couple of missing CLSIDs, I can probably fix them manually, but if you have a lot of missing CLSIDs, we have more of a problem.

Richard

Thanks Richard, I restored my laptop back to factory settings. A hellish experience. Thank you for you time.
