[SOLVED] DNSAP.dll Problem!

So it could be a virus? I've ran many scans but if you could make that file that would help a ton.

Wait I did the sfc thing again and I didn't get an a error it says no corruptions have been detected on this computer. Does that mean sfc /scan now should work?

Still don't work but I think that was suppose to fix my sf /snannow so I will try to do sfc /sannow is aura tell me.

If SFC didn't detect any corruption, it means that the DNSAPI.dll file was successfully replaced or repaired. Your Internet connection should be working now.

After a SFC scan, yes. Some files are only replaced during a restart since they are in use by the system.

Wait, didn't you say that you ran sfc /scannow already and it said that no corruption was detected?

I tried an sfc scan and it did the same thing stopped at 24% and says couldn't perform requested operation.

Alright, download the following Script.txt file and move it on your Desktop. Now, change the extension from .txt to .bat (if you don't know how, let me know).
  • Download the attached archive file, ReplacementFiles.zip and save it on your Desktop;
  • Once it's downloaded, right-click on it and select Extract All...;
  • Check the Show extracted files when complete checkbox, change the location to C: and click on Extract;
  • On completion, the C: drive will open. Open the ReplacementFiles folder and make sure that you indeed see files in it;
  • Close that Windows Explorer, go on your Desktop, right-click on Script.bat and select Run as Administrator. A command prompt window will quickly open and close.
Once this is done, let me know.

So I right clicked replacement files and j extracted it on my desktop. A file called dnsapi.dll is on my desktop and I made the batch file and I'm lost from what you
meant from there can you slowly tell me what to do next.

Follow the instructions when it comes to the extraction. The dnsapi.dll is supposed to end up in the C:\ReplacementFiles folder. Once done, simply right-click on the Script.bat file on your desktop and select Run as Administrator.

I see extract files and extract here. When I do extract files I can change the destination path is hat what you mean by location?

Yes, that's what I mean. Change the extract location to C: only.

So for the destination pasta literally just put in C:? Then after what do I do? Sorry, your explanation on how to do it earlier kind of confused me.

You know what, let's make that easier.

On your C: drive, create a folder called ReplacementFiles, and in it, copy and paste the dnsapi.dll file from the .zip archive I sent you. Once done, right-click on the Script.bat file I sent you earlier (which should be on your Desktop) and select Run as Administrator.

Now, try to run a SFC /scannow again. Does it stops at 24%?
