[SOLVED] Dual Partitions Disk 0 will not boot

Hi!

First and foremost, backup everything you need. As far as I have understood you can boot to Windows 10 HDD? If so, back up everything you need from there and while you are there, please get me a fully expanded screenshot of Disk Management. After all of that has been done, we'll proceed. Sounds good?

Yes I can boot to Windows 10 HDD. I have backed up my what I wanted on an external drive. Here is the Disk Management:

Okay, now that everything is backed up, let's first check smart status of the problematic Windows 8 HDD.

GSmartControl
Follow the instructions below to test your hard drive health with GSmartControl:

  • Download GSmartControl and save it on your Desktop;
  • Execute gsmartcontrol.exe; Let the install complete and launch the programme.
  • Identify your drive in the list, and double-click on it to bring up it's window (usually you'll find your drive by it's size or it's brand name);
  • Go in the Perform Tests tab, then select Extended Self-test in the Test type drop-down list and click on Execute (this test can take a few hours to complete);
  • Once the test is over, the results will be displayed at the bottom of the window. Please copy and paste these results in your next reply;
  • Also, go in the Attributes tab and if you have any entries highlighted in red or pink, take a screenshot of the GSmartControl window and attach it in your next reply;

Softwaremaniac,

Is this test stuck at 90%? It has been like this for 20-30 minutes or so. These HDD's are always writing to the disks. Which this is annoying listening to noisy drives. Have to say the disks have been like that for 10 years. LOL Nevermind. Test are done.

I have set Command Prompt to chk dsk. When I did this the other day. It said it had errors and it took hours to chkdsk /F. So it'll be awhile before I get back to you again. I had to leave the other day and I never did see the completion of that Disk being checked/finished/ or fixed.

Hi,

Disk check went really fast this time which was odd on a 500GB HD. I ran the Dropbox- ListChkdsk and it opened in Notepad. I am sorry how do I share the results?
