[SOLVED] Error 8007371B - W 7 - 64

SFCFix Script

  1. Download SFCFix.exe (by niemiro) and save this to your Desktop.
  2. Download the file below, SFCFix.zip, and save this to your Desktop. Ensure that this file is named SFCFix.zip - do not rename it.
  3. Save any open documents and close all open windows.
  4. On your Desktop, you should see two files: SFCFix.exe and SFCFix.zip.
  5. Drag the file SFCFix.zip onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it.
  6. SFCFix will now process the script.
  7. Upon completion, a file should be created on your Desktop: SFCFix.txt.
  8. Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of this file into your next post for me to analyse please - put [CODE][/CODE] tags around the log to break up the text.

When SFCFix has completed, run SURT again.
When SURT has completed, attach C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log with your reply.

It would appear that the replacement did not work.

Once you are at the Windows Desktop, replace the components hive:
Step 1 - Replace Components Hive Manually

  1. Right-click on COMPONENTS.ZIP (that you had downloaded from the last post) and select Extract all.... Make sure the "Show extracted files when complete" is checked and click Extract.
  2. Now we have the COMPONENTS file that we will be using to replace your current one.
  3. Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\config
  4. Right-click on the current COMPONENTS file and select rename. Rename it to COMPONENTS.old.
  5. Take the file from the Components folder on your desktop and paste it into C:\Windows\System32\config

If these steps are completed successfully, restart your computer and run SURT again.
When SURT has completed, attach CheckSUR.log with your reply.

It would appear that the components hive could not be loaded.

Can you post a screenshot of C:\Windows\System32\Config\ for me? I would like to see the size of the components hive.
 
IT IS. should not be loaded because the size of the components file is only 256 KB while the normal size is just over 27000 KB, Shall I repeat the previous post the procedure?
 
Yes, please do. Make sure not to replace any existing backup copies of the components hive, we may need them.
 
Something strange. . . When I paste the components file sent reports that there is already a file with the same characteristics (size, date...). But looking inside the config folder do not see anything. Incllusive I put in order of date, file size. . . Including folder options are enabled to view it.
 
From what I identify the file you sent in the last post was what was already in the Config folder .. Same size in bytes too.

    Start%20Orb.jpg
    button and in the search box, type Command Prompt
  2. When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator
  3. When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following commands into it, press enter after each

    xcopy %systemroot%\system32\config\components %userprofile%\desktop\CladeComponents\

    Note: if the result is 'sharing violation' or some other error message, restart your computer and try again.

  4. Right-click on the Command Prompt window and click Select All, this will invert all of the colors by selecting the text, now press enter. All of this text is now copied.
  5. Paste (Ctrl+V) it into your next post please.

Please manually upload the components hive by following these instructions:

Upload Components Hive
  1. Right-click on the CladeComponents folder on your Desktop and select Send To -> Compressed (zipped) Folder
  2. Upload the zip from your Desktop to a file sharing service such as DropBox, OneDrive, SendSpace, etc. and include the link with your reply.

Step 1 - Replace Components Hive Manually

  2. Right-click on the current COMPONENTS file and select rename. Rename it to COMPONENTS.old1.
    Note: If you get an error that the file is in use, reboot your computer and then try again.
  3. Move the COMPONENTS.ZIP file downloaded from the link above to your Desktop.
  4. Right-click on it and select Extract all.... Make sure the "Show extracted files when complete" is checked and click Extract.
  5. A new window should open showing the COMPONENTS file. Now we have the COMPONENTS file that we will be using to replace your current one.
  6. Take the file from the Components folder on your desktop (which is shown after the zip was extracted) and paste it into C:\Windows\System32\config

  4. Right-click on the Command Prompt window and click Select All, this will invert all of the colours by selecting the text, now press enter. All of this text is now copied.

After the command has been run, try copying the new Components file into the Config folder again.
