   button and in the search box, type Command Prompt
2. When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator
3. When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following commands into it, then press enter
   
   dir /a C:\Windows\System32\Config
   
   
4. Right-click on the Command Prompt window and click Select All, this will invert all of the colours by selecting the text, now press enter. All of this text is now copied.
5. Paste (Ctrl+V) it into your next post please.

Does this machine crash or bluescreen?

GSmartControl
Follow the instructions below to test your hard drive health with GSmartControl:

• Download GSmartControl and save it on your Desktop;
• Extract the content of the GSmartControl .zip archive and execute gsmartcontrol.exe; To extract you can right-click your mouse on the GSmartControl.zip file and select Extract.
• Identify your drive in the list, and double-click on it to bring up it's window (usually you'll find your drive by it's size or it's brand name);
• Go in the Perform Tests tab, then select Extended Self-test in the Test type drop-down list and click on Execute (this test can take a few hours to complete);
• Once the test is over, the results will be displayed at the bottom of the window. Please copy and paste these results in your next reply;
• Also, go in the Attributes tab and if you have any entries highlighted in red or pink, copy and paste their name in your next reply (or take a screenshot of the GSmartControl window and attach it in your next reply);

Did you perform the nondestructive repair install (in-place upgrade)?

Yes. I had proceeded this same test some time ago, but did not have to report their knowledge.


In fact I could not to mess with this equipment, provide specific ISO to make non-destructive repair.


In this equipment is where do the most different software testing, so maybe it is presenting these difficulties (update, msconfig, restore point disappearing after reboot).


See there, I think it is challenging to you. . .if Understand like this, I am partner and "play forward", otherwise I do not see why not stop.

Let's try making the changes in safe mode.

Make sure they are both somewhere you can easily find.

Next, follow the instructions here to start your computer in safe mode: Start your computer in safe mode - Windows Help

Once the computer is in safe mode, drag the SFCFix.zip file downloaded earlier onto SFCFix.exe.
When SFCFix has completed, restart your computer.
When the computer has restarted, attach the SFCFix.txt file on your desktop with your reply.

Equipment in dual boot 7 - 64 and 8.1 - 64.


Set as the default Windows 7-64, which was being worked on this post so far.


. It has certain services (bank, and antivirus) that after disabled, return to be marked.


. Disable the "Load Startup Items" is not possible. When applying OK, back to be checked.


I think the most important is the question of windows update, other situations (msconfig and restore points) will "taking" because I have no interest in upgrading to Windows 10, because there is equipment availability with Windows 10 pre-installed .


My interests: Windows 7, Windows 10, Windows 8.1 and Linux.


Can I try to update the windows update?
