[SOLVED] Error Code 800F0831 when installing updates on Server 2012 R2

Yes, I do see a solution, but there is a large amount of files and registry entries to be replaced. As you have seen, we have made some progress in the past and are making some now, but as this particular update seems to rely on many updates, it is quite normal that it is not as simple to install.

Just a small note:

Next week, I will be starting my fifth year at the university, so my replies will be somewhat rarer.

OK --- I was just curious about the process and wondering what may cause such severe damage of the registry part of WU: my actions or alien intervention? :r1:

Windows Update has a system which breaks down when not being updated very long as in your case and then it wreaks havoc, so it's not you, it's the system that's broken.

Hopefully, it won't last that long, haha.
