I'm on the laptop again. The last SFCFix killed the PC. It's responding exactly the same as if I ran sfc /scannow. No BSOD but a black screen with a cursor that moves with the mouse but otherwise unresponsive.
I'm restoring the computer as I write this but it's going to take a few hours. Whatever change you made with this latest SFCFix is the one that breaks this machine.

Not sure why this failed. Its a valid part of a particular KB.

The KB was partially installed. We removed it but are left with references to it which we need to fix manually, one at a time.
