[SOLVED] First Post - Windows 7 Update Failure

WARNING! The following fix is specific to the user's system in this thread only. No one else should follow these instructions, as it could damage your system.
  • Download the attachment SFCFix.zip and save it on your desktop.
  • Save any work you have open, and close all programs.
  • Drag the SFCFix.zip file over the SFCFix.exe executable and release it.

  • SFCFix will launch, let it complete.
  • Once done, a file will appear on your desktop, called SFCFix.txt.
  • Attach that file to your next reply.

Copy the file C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\cbs.log to your desktop.

KB3075226 installed successfully. I've not restarted. Should I restart after each successful update or is that not necessary?
 
No, you need to restart only when Windows asks for it.

Try to install KB3156016 only and report the result.
If it fails, copy the file C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\cbs.log to your desktop.

Ok. Try to install KB4534310 only and report the result.
 
KB4534310 seems to be installed successfully. It required a restart and the computer went into system repair and finished with the can not repair message (attached screen image). I selected Don't Send and then Finish and the computer shut down. I restarted and it started up OK.

Provide a fresh screenshot of the available important updates.
 
KB4534310 is back on the list so I'm not sure what happened with that. Maybe the system repair removed the install. Screenshot is attached.
