Alright now that this entry has been fixed, time to run a SFC scan and grab a fresh CBS.log. Follow the instructions below.

System File Checker (SFC)
Follow the instructions below to run a SFC scan on your system and to provide the CBS log in your next reply;
  • On Windows Vista & 7, click on the Windows Start Menu, then enter cmd in the search box, right-click on the cmd icon and select
    Spcusrh.png
    Run as Administrator
  • On Windows 8, drag your cursor in the bottom-left corner, and right-click on the metro menu preview, then select Command Prompt (Admin);
  • On Windows 8.1, right click on the Windows logo in the bottom-left corner and select Command Prompt (Admin);
  • Enter the command below and press on Enter;
    Code:
    sfc /scannow
    Note: There's a space between "sfc" and "/scannow";
  • Once the scan is complete, enter the command below and press on Enter
    Code:
    copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log "%userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt"
  • A file called cbs.txt will have appeared on your Desktop. Upload the file on Dropbox, Google Drive or OneDrive and post the download URL for it here;
Note: Please note that the CBS.log is volatile, which means that if you don't upload it after the SFC scan is completed, it won't contains the information from the scan anymore. So archive it and upload it as soon as you can.

I cannot access that file on Google Drive, it tells me I need to ask the permission. Can you get the public download URL for it and post it here please?

Follow the instructions below please.

Step#1 - Retrieve Event Log Messages
1. Download Event Viewer Toolby Vino Rosso to your Desktop

**** End of log ****

Alright, sorry for the delay. I would like you to follow the instructions below.

Event 10016: The application-specific permission settings do not grant Local Launch permission for the COM Server application with CLSID {C97FCC79-E628-407D-AE68-A06AD6D8B4D1} - ITExperience.NET

The Registry key mentionned in this tutorial is HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AppID\{344ED43D-D086-4961-86A6-1106F4ACAD9B} (if you're not sure you're on the right one when you search for it, but when I did I ended up on the right key right away). If there's any instruction that you don't understand or that you don't feel comfortable with doing alone, let me know and I'll help you.

Alright, can you try to install the updates again?

Tried that as well & get the following error: Windows Update Agent Installer encountered an unrecoverable error.

Try to install it again, and then upload the CBS.log file when it fails. I'll see if there's anything logged in it.

Alright, follow the instructions below please.

Step#1 - Clear Event Logs

1. Click your Start button and type cmd into the search box.
2. Right-click on cmd that comes up in the search results and select Run as administrator. Answer Yes to the UAC prompt if it appears.
3. Copy/Paste the following into the command-prompt window and hit enter.
wevtutil cl application && wevtutil cl system && wevtutil cl security

System File Checker (SFC)
Follow the instructions below to run a SFC scan on your system and to provide the CBS log in your next reply;
  • On Windows Vista & 7, click on the Windows Start Menu, then enter cmd in the search box, right-click on the cmd icon and select
    Spcusrh.png
    Run as Administrator
  • On Windows 8, drag your cursor in the bottom-left corner, and right-click on the metro menu preview, then select Command Prompt (Admin);
  • On Windows 8.1, right click on the Windows logo in the bottom-left corner and select Command Prompt (Admin);
  • Enter the command below and press on Enter;
    Code:
    sfc /scannow
    Note: There's a space between "sfc" and "/scannow";
  • Once the scan is complete, enter the command below and press on Enter
    Code:
    copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log "%userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt"
  • A file called cbs.txt will have appeared on your Desktop. Upload the file on Dropbox, Google Drive or OneDrive and post the download URL for it here;
Note: Please note that the CBS.log is volatile, which means that if you don't upload it after the SFC scan is completed, it won't contains the information from the scan anymore. So archive it and upload it as soon as you can.

That CBS.log doesn't contain any traces of a SFC scan, try again please. You need to upload the file directly after the scan is finished since that log is volatile and gets overwritten pretty fast :)
