How/why did you pick your avatar?

Someone made my avatar for me and gave it to me, clark76. It was the first forum I became associated with, I learned a lot on that forum, a lot of what I learned had nothing to do with computers.

Joe

My avatar here and one or two other places is a that of a flag or banner of a local hero hereabouts. (One of my most recent visitors gets a mention on that page too.)

It's most often seen waving at rugby matches against the old enemy.

Maybe I chose it just because I'm a revolting old git ...

My avatar on most places except here are art commissions I paid for of an anthropomorphic wolf. My native Metis name is Running Wolf so it's a depiction of myself. I have a newer and better one that I use off of TSF, that I'd like to use, but I'm not so sure it's family-friendly.

Mine is the little prince:

Mine is of Jack Frost, I actually connect on same levels as characters in the films I watch. I'm a huge Dreamworks fan!

In particular there are quite a few points were I felt like my personality and Jack's align. Then again I just like to analyze stuff but that's just me.

Rise of the Guardians, Wreak-it-Ralph, and How to Train Your Dragon take tops for me.

Obviously mine's Gunn. Sgt. Hartmann/R. Lee Ermey of Full Metal Jacket fame.

The avatar I have now I created in Photoshop. Most of the avatars you see me with I usually just create myself because I like being unique. :)

Rise from the undead my friend. MUHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Ok so, Ace your avatar looks pretty darn awesome.

During a skype call my friend decided that it would be fun to cosplay myself as Jack Frost or Hiccup. Well considering I have the hair for it, why not. The glasses issue? No more, yes, I ordered contacts.

Colored contacts? No, I'm not that rich to waste money like that.

But I think my Jack Frost avatar is here to stay unless I come across some avatar of Hiccup.

Nirvana isn't my favorite band (it's one of all-time favorites), I guess I choose Kurt because he's kinda of a inspiration, along with Layne Staley, Eddie Vedder and Randy Blythe. I also liked the picture too ;)

Wow, so many weird, yet awesome stories. XD

Honestly, the Internet has been a part of my life for so long that I doubt I could guess at the first forum I was ever on. I can tell you the first social system I ever joined and was active on was MSN Chat (got two life bans on the same account).

In regards to my avatar, I tend to create all the avatars I use, though I haven't made anything in a few years. The current one, Lady Subaru from .hack//SIGN, is part of a set to a Tsukasa signature I made when I first deployed to Afghanistan. If you consider the first avatar I EVER made:
AoN.gif

I think it's a great improvement. Lady Subaru is my third favorite character from the .hack series.

As for changing them, I do tend to rotate my avatars and signatures, but rarely do I ever use something I didn't create myself (renders not included). Most of my works can be found at DeviantArt and PhotoBucket (plus a little extra). On anime forums, I tend to use an avatar I stole from a good friend of mine, ridorana. It's displayed on my DeviantArt page as the main image, it's Hinata from Naruto Shippuden.

I hope yall enjoyed my "story". ^^

This one is from a game called MadWorld. I have another with my username in it, and of which, It's the most professional looking one I have. The other is a smiley face I like to use though. :) I have a folder full of the avatars I use on my USB key.

edit: Hoooollly, this forum is slower than a snail...
