inetres.admx Corrupted Since Langa's Non-Destruct Win. 7 Upgrade- Cannot Be Repaired

Okay, it just finished after a bit over 2 hours, which according to a MS forum reply on the subject I had been reading when it did, the processing-time can vary, depending on one's pc and the amount of issues. Too bad they didn't include some kind of progress-taskbar, just so people can know for sure.

Please see the attached CheckSur log.

Wow, there are a lot of missing files and manifests. Has something happened to the computer?

I've collected a number of them, please run this to replace the missing files.

SFCFix Script

Warning: this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.

 1. Download SFCFix.exe (by niemiro) and save this to your Desktop.
 2. Download the file below, SFCFix.zip, and save this to your Desktop. Ensure that this file is named SFCFix.zip - do not rename it.
 3. Save any open documents and close all open windows.
 4. On your Desktop, you should see two files: SFCFix.exe and SFCFix.zip.
 5. Drag the file SFCFix.zip onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it.
 6. SFCFix will now process the script.
 7. Upon completion, a file should be created on your Desktop: SFCFix.txt.
 8. Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of this file into your next post for me to analyse please - put

tags around the log to break up the text.

Download SFCFix.zip from Sendspace.com - send big files the easy way

When SFCFix has completed, restart your computer and run SURT again.
When SURT completes, attach CheckSUR.log with your reply.

Okay done, and thanks.

Please the attached, and let me know if I'm good to go re-installing programs, etc.

I've read up on this issue of missing packages, and if there are some left that need to be installed, I'll try to fix the issue myself following this guide, unless you state that I shouldn't:

Advanced guidelines for diagnosing and fixing servicing corruption

As part of Kudos for all of your efforts, you should see something by me via PayPal about now, thanks again.

It looks like there are 28 missing packages left based on 3 KB updates, one which is a version of the GWX nagware that I don''t want installed but I guess will have to be fixed in order to uninstall it.

This said, I won't risk fixing this myself & will stand-by, as I've learned that when it seems easy to DIY something you've never done before, that's when you get into trouble!!

Looks like the file replacement was successful. Did you intend to attach CheckSUR.log?

I guess my cell message didn't go through. I just got home and will now run CheckSur then upload the log, thanks.

Hi,

Unfortunately, it seems as if more issues were created after I reinstalled .NetframeworkMicrosoft .NET Framework 4.5, 4.5.1, 4.5.2, & 4.6.1, with the corresponding security updates.

But I had to un-install, clean, and re-install them, since there was leftover corruption on all versions, except the built-in ones up to 4.0.

CheckSur got stuck, so I had to end the wusa-process.

Also, I am not only still having the same "settings could not be determined issue" with secpol.msc, the token for it is now missing in mmc, so I have to go into secpol via gpedit.msc. to see secpol.

Finally, it may be unrelated, but windows powershell will not run, it flashes on and off quickly;however, I am able to run Powershell x86.

Due to this issue I tried to update WMI to 4.0 that includes Powershell, but it stuck on installing for 2 & a half hours, so like CheckSur, I had to end the wusa process on it. If I must somehow disable the built-in WMI and Powershell 2.0 (folder readas 1.0), before I can install this update please let me know, & how to go about this, since I saw neither program listed to disable in the control panel.

I read where not having .Netframework 4.5.1 specifically could be a cause, but as I stated I have all of the updated .Netframework versions re-installed (not touching the new beta!).

I don't mind doing one more Non-destructive upgrade, but the component files have to be 100% clean, or I would just be upgrading to the same problems.

So if you can help me wrap this up, I'd appreciate it, because it has been a real handicap since I cannot risk re-installing Office 2010, the program which I use the most, until there's an "All Clear".

All this said, after deleting "pendingxml" folder in winsxs, I just ran sfc /scannow and sfc.fix, the latter which seemed to have repair at least one issue; but I am unsure if the packages I am currently having issues with are part of the last 2 fixes you sent, & didn't want to re-run those without you looking at the attached CBS and SFC.fix logs, first.

So, please see the attached, and thanks.

2 P.S. One:I will run another MBar before I run any new fixes you send, since even with full
Malwarebytes protection on and updated, those new trojans are very persistent!!
Two: And is Visual Studio 14.0 , a necessary install for Windows 7? I uninstalled it, but
have many leftover registry files that neither Eusing, or cc cleaner can't find to remove.

Not knowing if it makes any difference, but I felt I should point-out that I DON'T have a CheckSur folder listed in the location that is mentioned to search for like this:

"C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Servicing\Packages".

Within the "Windows" folder, my "Temp" has only one folder , "Low" that is empty, and IT, like the "servicing" and "CheckSur" folders, are separate within the "Windows folder". "CheckSur" contains a sub-folder named "1.0", with the exact contents listed in the attached txt, and the "servicing" folder has the actual "packages" folder.

Hi,

As per your request, please see the attached Sfc.fix & CBS logs.

I have no other issues according to the last Chkdsk /r /f I did the night before, so I took a chance by re-installing Office 2010 Pro Plus via the new slipstream I did with SP1 & SP2 yesterday, that only required a few recent updates afterwards.

However, the MMC issues have only gotten worse (see below).

So if you deem me "Clean", since I feel that the need for continual custom repairs indicate an overall larger issue, like the event viewer, no secpol.msc token now, or the inability to download wmi 4.0 despite all of the .netframework versions installed, I will proceed to finish compiling my Windows 7 64 Ult. Slipstream Blu-Ray with all updates, based on these below links as a guide.

Then using the new Slip-streamed Win.7 Ult. disc, I'll carefully do the Langa in-place upgrade more time, since in researching I realize that the corrupted store would have to be clean beforehand, a detail I had missed the first-time around when I was experiencing the same issues.

I will be sure to back-up all of my Firefox browser settings, Adobe Flash plugins, & Drivermaxx inks beforehand, then afterwards utilize the ie 10, ie11 & GWX blockers.

Please see the details for most of my current issues below the line, above the Slip-streaming links.

This said, I'll be standing by for the final word from you. THANK YOU.

Ok, looks like SFC successfully repaired the files.

Please restart and run SFC again to verify. If it reports no corruption was found, then we'll move on to the next thing.
If it says it was unable to repair etc. zip and attach CBS.log again.

My suspicion is that the corrupt .net framework files are causing the event viewer issues. We'll see if that is the case.

We may have to re-register some DLLs etc.

Hi,

Please see the attached- I haven't read the details, but the scan read as "No Integrity Violations", so it's looking VERY promising.

My choice to re-install Office 2010 was premature, as simply installing Logitech mouseware for my gaming mouse afterwards, corrupted it!

What is the error message you are receiving in Office 2010 with MouseWare installed?
