Hi,

The update didn't install correctly...

Uninstall Update Manually

- open the Command Prompt as Administrator (Tutorial)
- type or Copy & Paste the following: wusa /uninstall /KB:4534310
- confirm that you want to uninstall the update

If the result is some error like Update isn't installed, error during the uninstall, etc. execute the following steps:

Search with Farbar Recovery Scan Tool (FRST)
  • Download FRST or FRST x64 and save it to the Desktop.
(Please pick the version that matches your operating system's bit type. If you don't know which version matches your system, try FRST if it say that is not compatible with your OS you have to use FRST64)
  • open the Command Prompt as Administrator (Tutorial)
  • type the command:
    dism /online /Get-FeatureInfo /FeatureName:TFTP|find "."
  • wait for the command to finish with "The operation completed successfully" or equivalent
  • close the window "Administrator: Command Prompt"
  • Execute FRST/FRST64 right click on the icon
    FRST.jpg
and choose Run as Administrator. Make sure all other windows are closed.
(When the Tool opens for the first time you must click Yes on the disclaimer.)
    FRST_SearchRegistry.png
  • On the Search box (1) type or Copy & Paste the following text:
    KB4534310
  • Press the Search Registry button.
  • Wait for the search to finish FRST will produce a log called (SearchReg.txt) in the same directory the Tool is run from.
  • Please attach the log to your post.

Hi,

What was the result of the uninstall?

Please delete FRST64.exe and download it again, the links I post will give you the latest version, the FRST64 window title should say 27-01-2020 or newer date.

Before running FRST64.exe change the name to FRST64-English.exe for the tool produce the logs in English.

Hi,

Because of the difference on the Operating System language I'm not sure that the Dism command worked as expected...

Please open the Command Prompt as Administrator like you did before but this time copy & paste the following command:
reg load HKLM\COMPONENTS %systemroot%\System32\config\COMPONENTS
After the Operating result is successful run FRST64-English and search for KB4534310 like you did before, post the new search log.

Hi to Portugal

I did as requested. See the result in the attachment.
By the way...Since about a week, this system is sometimes realllly slooooow.
Screens freeze. CPU load is low and there is plenty of free memory at this time.
I am asking myself, if this system now is completely junked.....
How do you rate the chances to get it fixed?
Soon our guest will arrive and I will not get permission to touch any computer...;-)
May be close to midnight I will check.

Hi,

This time the result was what I expected :)

For the moment I don't have information to know why is slow, we can do some checking after resolving the WU problem, its not uncommon to see the machines performing slow when there are problems with updates because the system could be trying to install the updates in the background and failing...

I think this could be fixed but it will require some time...

Farbar Recovery Scan Fix

!!! WARNING !!! The following fix is only relevant for this system and no other, running the script on another computer will not work and may cause problems...

  • Download the file attached and save it to the Desktop as fixlist.txt
(It's important that both files, FRST or FRST64 and fixlist.txt are in the same location or the fix will not work!)
  • Execute FRST/FRST64 right click on the icon
    FRST.gif
and choose Run as Administrator. Make sure all other windows are closed.
    FRST_Fix.png
  • Press the Fix button just once and Wait. After the fix the system needs to restart if the tool does not request it please Restart the computer.
  • The tool will make a log (Fixlog.txt) on the same location as FRST/FRST64 please post it in your next reply.

Hi,

Thanks for the log.

Please open the Control Panel -> Programs and Features locate the entries for Microsoft .NET Framework, it may exist more than one version, right click and select the option to Uninstall/Change on the next screen select Repair...

Repeat the repair process for every version of .NET Framework that is installed, let me know the result, error codes, etc.
