Monthly Security Rollup updates failing with error 8024200D

Step 1:
Warning: This script was written specifically for this user, for use on that particular machine. Do not run this script on another machine.
  1. Download the attachment fixlist.txt and save it to your desktop.
  2. Right-click on FRST64.exe and select "Run as administrator".
  3. Press the Fix button.
  4. The tool will now process fixlist.txt.
  5. If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.
  6. When finished, a log called Fixlog.txt will appear in the same directory the tool is run from.
  7. Post the logfile Fixlog.txt as attachment in your next reply.

Check Windows Update again and report the result.
If it fails, run sfc /scannow again and attach the zipped cbs.log to your next reply. Please use www.filedropper.com instead of http:/www.sendspace.com.

Install Update with DISM
  1. Download the update MSU here: http://download.windowsupdate.com/c..._c2d1cef74d6cb2278e3b2234c124b207d0d0540f.msu
  2. Copy the MSU file to a convenient location (such as C:\temp).
  3. Click on the Start button and in the search box, type Command Prompt
  4. When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator
  5. When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following commands into it, press enter after each

    cd C:\temp

    replace C:\temp with your path if different

    expand windows6.1-kb4019264-x64_c2d1cef74d6cb2278e3b2234c124b207d0d0540f.msu -f:* C:\temp

    DISM.exe /Online /Add-Package /PackagePath:C:\temp\windows6.1-kb4019264-x64.cab

  6. You should receive the message:
    The operation completed successfully.
  7. Make sure to allow the computer to restart if prompted.

    If you receive any other message, take a screenshot of the Command Prompt window and paste it into your next reply.

It worked! Incredible.

The only slightly curious thing is now there is an optional update for Silverlight (KB4023307) which apparently successfully installs but then always returns.

Please do following:

  1. Click on the Start button and in the search box, type CMD
  2. When CMD is listed above, right-click on it and select Run as administrator
  3. When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following command into it, then press enter

    Code:
    fsutil resource setautoreset true %systemdrive%\
  4. Wait 10 minutes and then reboot the machine.
Check Windows Update again. If the update is offered again allow it to install again.
Please report the result.
 
Uninstall Microsoft Silverlight and restart the machine.
Does the optional update for Silverlight (KB4023307) still appears ?
 
When I try to uninstall is says: "The installer has encountered an unexpected error instaling this package. This may indicate a problem with the package. The error code is 2753."
