My Several Month Office Remodel

What can I say Corrine. I grew up in a digital age.

I think you guys and girls will like the new layout tho. -- it'll be very spacious. (I think that's the right word) it'll definitely be different from all my other layouts.

Ah, you're one of those who had a mouse in your hand at birth! :D

In contrast, I grew up in the prehistoric age -- when you picked up the one telephone in the house, dialed O for operator and gave her the number you wanted to reach; that is, if you could get through the party line.

I'd say we're very lucky then to be born in a time where everything is so easily accessible!

I thought I'd put a spin on my thread.

I'm curious to see other's work stations.

And Corrine, yes I grew up with plastic, not all metal parts.

Tho, I don't know what has a more breakdown rate; metal springs and impact hammers or a metal contact hammer hitting a sheet of plastic.

I don't have a fancy setup like you, although I do have a nice desk. It is a piece of furniture that can be closed up like an armoire and everything hidden away -- although that seldom happens. The back of the chair can even be folded down and slid inside. Its in the den, with my husband on the couch watching TV and the dogs and cat nearby.

lol. My desk is just a thick piece of MDF with legs screwed onto it. It does its job perfectly, however!

Very nice office setup.

I once had a desk w/ some glass inserts. I came home after a long trip and noticed the glass was gone. Paige was 14 then (18 now) and calmly explained that Chase (now 11) was curious if the wet vac could suck up broken glass, so they performed a scientific test. She said that I taught them to test out their theories.

I didn't ask any more questions - couldn't, as I was laughing so hard looking at the kids' dead-serious faces.

My kids consider the hard-wired mobile phone in my car to be prehistoric!

Hmmm, that's different I didn't notice the thread stats.

J. C., I was gonna do something like that, but went with a solid glass desk instead. But I'm off to work on my office some more, I got really behind thanks to my job.

On the outside chance you need a clean-up crew, I'll let my kids know!

If you want to test the durability of the solid glass desktop, I'll let my kids know!

Your kids are downright dangerous! :hysterical:

Thanks J.C. I have plenty of work they can let their minds run wild on :)

Btw; Here's an update of my room / office. It's really open in here cuz the bed is on end at the moment.

As for the rest of my "office" it's a busy mess at the moment.

Cable management doesn't really exist yet, but just wait till its finished!

I'm really curious. What is the longest time you have left your "office" set up one way without rearranging it?

I average a few months at a time.

Now like the next remodel won't take place until I buy the monitor mounts and lift them off the desk. Nothing major, just very tedious.

Keep changing it until you find the best setup for you... One of these times you will be... "Dang... That's it!!!"

I have rearranged my storage solutions about 20 times this year... I finally have 80% of my stuff organized!!!

Looking good though! I like the glass desk as well!

Here are some pictures I promised a while back from when I added some more lights/etc to my toys...

I also added an extra fan to my xbox to improve cooling... was interesting as I had to cut a hole in my case... again :rofl12:
