My Several Month Office Remodel

Nearly the same as this...

Motherboard: GIGABYTE 890FX
CPU: AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition OCed 4.0GHz
Memory: G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB (4 x 4GB)
Graphics: XFX Radeon HD 5870 + Gigabyte Radeon HD 5870
Hard Drives: Corsair Force 3GT 120GB + WD Black 750GB + WD V-raptor 150GB
Disk Drives: LG Black 10X Blu-ray Burner + Lite-On iHAS424(Burner MAX)
Power Supply: CORSAIR 950TX
Case: Thermaltake Armor A90
Cooling: Thermaltake SpinQ
Display: 2 x 22'' + 24'' LCD (5760x3240)
Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate x64

Red have been removed/changed because the 950W psu started screeching and I haven't had time to look at it.

I do enjoy my SpinQ cooler, I was going to get a 990max but decided to go with that for aesthetics

That's pretty sweet.

I'm building a few machines. When, is anybody's clue, but I'll post the specs once I get quotes on them.

As for my office, it's almost together, just got cable management I think now.

I love my cooler too. It has got to be one of the most vicious looking coolers I have ever seen!

http://www.scan.co.uk/products/be-q...5-1155-1156-1366-2011-am2-am2plus-am3-754-940

And it is absolutely enormous. When I did the dimensions, I forgot to allow for the motherboard tray. Won't make that mistake again! I can't slide it through the back, and had to do some nasty hack by sliding the tray up from the bottom and screwing the rail in afterwards, without breaking anything, or dropping the screws or the expensive motherboard and everything on it etc. etc.

The side panel just closed with ~5mm to spare. lol.

I finally have an update. I finally have more new toys. And I'm almost completed on my cable management. So I will be uploading lots of pics.

I don't get it... I keep getting stuck with the motherboards with usb that fail.

Anyways still working on final cable management and clean up. Should be fun.

Lol just another day. I'm getting a lot of upgrades and what not so it is very interesting to say the least.

Sell off the old bring in the new.

P.s. as per the name of my thread.... should of just called it several year instead. But none the least as time goes by I will incur the following changes.

  • Office chair floor mat
  • Main computer
  • Secondary / server computer
  • New Office Printer
  • 3 UPS Units (still deciding on what their handling capacities will be.)

Temmu, Nope it's the old fashion usb 2.0 ports that are faulting out, I have a 3.0 usb card installed but it defaults to 2.0 before it'll work correctly.

That or poor quality cables.

The only reason this is taking so long is becuase not only did I start a new job but also I'm upgrading my shop and getting it all brand new tools and I'm also getting stuff stock piled for my new apartment.

Wait a minute! It just connected. If you are planning on a new apartment, then the entire remodel project will start all over when you move! :thud:

Exactly, nothing ever stays put. I'm always changing something, always in the middle of upgrading, so yes, this is a never ending loop and will continue to relapse over and over and over.

If I had to stick a number to the amount of money I spend on food and supplies just for daily living,

In about one month, I would of spent equal to the cost of my new secondary computer ($928).

So these things take time, but as things fall into place you'll all get to see the progress.

FINALLY! I'm done with all the cable management!

Now just for final cleaning and setup.

If you're wondering why pictures haven't appeared yet... well I can't exactly say... none the less the changes will be posted.

Also, I've been digging through my hard drives so I'll have a few other extras to post!

Dealing with the cables is the most tiresome part of this kind of a project.

Wait till you see my cable management it was honestly one of the hardest ones I've ever done.

Oh and my 3.0 card stopped generating errors, YAY!

I think my external usb CD drive took a dump. Which doesn't surprise me as old as it is.

9 days, almost 10, I know I've been lacking on updates.

Unfortionally, there will probably be even more delay.

Laxer, knows majority as to of why, and this does not mean to overfill his inbox.

To put in a simple way, I have a major threat that I have to worry about first before I can worry about a silly remodel.

All the best Anthony, (a.k.a. - wishtobeanaussie)

I hope the situation you are dealing with is resolved quickly. Take care of yourself, Anthony.
