[SOLVED] :NET Framework updates fails -error 643-

Hi,

SFCFix Script

!!! WARNING !!! The following fix is only relevant for this system and no other, applying this fix on another computer will not work and most likely will cause problems...
  • Download SFCFix.exe (by Niemiro) and save it to the Desktop
  • Download the file SFCScript.txt, attached below, and save this to your Desktop
  • On your Desktop, make sure you have the two files:
    myjIXnC.png
    SFCFix.exe and
    8RAhYFg.gif
    SFCScript.txt
  • Drag the file SFCScript.txt onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it
  • The SFCFix tool will process the script
  • Upon completion, a log file SFCFix.txt should be created on your Desktop
  • Open the SFCFix.txt log and copy & paste the contents to your post


Open the Command Prompt and Copy & Paste the following command:
reg query "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{59856830-3ECB-4D29-9CFE-DDD0F74B96A2}" /s

Please post the log and report the result of the command above.

Download Windows Repair (All-in-One) Portable
  • extract the tweaking.com_windows_repair_aio.zip to c:\Windows\TEMP the zip will extract to a folder called Tweaking.com - Windows Repair
  • execute the file Repair_Windows.exe from the Tweaking.com - Windows Repair folder, accept the Security warning and the EULA
  • click the button Jump To Repairs
  • accept the tool prompt and let the System Restart in Safe Mode to execute the next steps
  • In Safe Mode execute again the file Repair_Windows.exe from the Tweaking.com - Windows Repair folder
  • click the Open Repairs button to access the following screen:

  • click the box All Repairs to uncheck all the box's
  • check only the following box's:
    • 01 - Reset Registry Permissions
    • 02 - Reset File Permissions
    • 03 - Reset Service Permissions
    • 04 - Register System Files
    • 10 - Remove Policies Set By Infections
    • 25 - Restore Important Windows Services
    • 26 - Set Windows Services to Default Startup
  • check the box Restart/Shutdown System When Finished > Restart System
  • click the Start Repairs button

i followed all instructions & Win Repair ran smoothly til the end (I only had a mishap with TweakingRegistryBackup, it stopped suddenly, here is the crash log:

Well SD, I think you´ve made a super-great job solving all these bad things we had with NET Framework updates. I´ve been dragging those problems since autumn 2018 & it was impossible for me to work it out till today...YOU DID IT !!! After checking procedures & tools used here, i´m not sure if the update failures were due to a damaged registry keys, or malware CLSID key value infection, or anything else. So i would very much like to know what really did happen, & most of all give THANKS to you for all work done: I´m grateful to you, congratulations !!! we can close the issue, all updates were installed ok...i´ll keep in touch with Sysnative...

It was a mix of things, registry keys missing and with wrong permissions. It's usually difficult to say where the problem started or why it happened.
