Thank you.

Now, we have 3 options:

1. Send the topic to the Windows Update Forum, hoping that the experts there will fix the issue created at Nov 22nd with the interrupted update.

2. Go for a factory reset (your programs will be removed, but your files will be kept).

3. Go for a clean install. In this case, you will lose everything but it is the best way to solve your issues. Of course, if you go this way, you must backup your personal files (documents, videos, music, pictures) first.

Let me know how would you like to proceed.

I'm thinking maybe try a factory reset first and if that fails then I can do the clean install. I've got the personal files backed up already.

I think that this is a wise decision, assuming that the computer has already programs needing to get uninstalled. You will make a fresh start.

A very helpful link with detailed steps for a factory reset here: How to reset a Windows 10 PC to factory settings

In case you have a question, just ask me.

You are very welcome. I'll be waiting for your reply when you finish. I really hope for a solution with this way.

Hello. I wonder if you tried the factory reset and if the issue is gone. It would be very helpful for us to know.

Hello Dr M, the factory reset did not work. I have re-installed Windows and the laptop is back to normal. I'm just re-installing the programs, updating drivers that I need and copying over the data and files that I need so just taking time. Thanks for all your help.

Hi, flipper26.

I suspected that clean install would be the only effective way to resolve your issues. Sometimes, these things happen.

However, I'm happy to hear that you were able to re-install Windows and now the laptop is back to normal. Great job! Please, feel free to ask anything you would like, before I close the topic and mark it as Solved.

I don't have any questions so go ahead and close the topic. Thanks again for all your help.
