I could really care less if my system tray is all the way to my start button.
It gives me a sense of whats going down and what I have open, even running in background.

I have most hidden but want to have a visual confirmation that my A/V, MBAM and WinPatrol are active.

In fact, I have so many that they extend several Desktop widths off the edge of the screen, and are not easily accessible! I must manually browse to the Desktop folder, and then search for them :hysterical:
I don't. Quicker just to go to All Programs or Program Files.

lol, I used to have 0, not even the recycle bin. I ran everything from the taskbar or other means.
Zero desktop icons here! I don't see the desktop except when the computer starts/shuts down. What I use frequently is either pinned to the taskbar or a shortcut in the desktop toolbar (in organized folders, of course). Slightly less frequently used program are pinned to the Start Menu. Otherwise, Program Files or a filed away Library Folder.

I use my desktop as a working folder sometimes... Right now I have a bunch of icons on mine... 33

Pretty soon, half of the files on my desktop will be ending up in the recycle bin! The rest will be "Put away".

Nope lol, 'repeat after me':
1) Click 'No' (A confirmation will come up after you press DELETE)
You could also retrieve/restore everything from the recycle bin even afterwards
Do this instead:
1) Ctrl + A
2) Shift + Delete
3) Enter

I thought the recycle bin is where you store all of those important documents.... :confused2:
My latest, minimalistic desktop! And yes, for one of the rare times, I have an icon on my desktop!
