Scannow verification stops at 77% complete Win 7 Pro SP1

The log looks good. No major issues.
It looks like some corruptions are not repaired with the given fixes.
Maybe Avast is interfering. Disable the realtime-protection of Avast completely, then run the fix in message #34 again.
Please note there are new corruptions but I want to see if the correct know issues are fixed.

Good. Disable the realtime-protection of Avast completely again.
Run the command sfc /scannow in an elevated commandprompt and report the result.
On completion copy the file C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\cbs.log to your desktop.
Zip the copied file and attach and the zipped cbs.log to your next reply.

Scannow once more completed successfully and again reported that there were some corrupt files it was unable to fix. The zipped CBS file is attached.

Thank you again.

Great. Any remaining issues left ?

Just a question about not letting your hard work go to waste – I do disk cleanup and defragmentation every few months, and I do my best to avoid malware/viruses; what else should I be doing to maintain the health of my computer? Is there a particular maintenance regimen that is recommended? There is a vast and confusing array of advice out there.

Thank you again, very much, for all your efforts in this matter and for your patience with me and my limited technical proficiency (and sometimes downright ineptitude.)

That should be fine. Make sure to backup all your important data also or create a full system image.
As Windows 7 is no longer updated you should consider to upgrade Windows or if the machine is to old, leave this machine as it is and buy a new one with the latest Windows version so you can start moving your data to the new machine.

Your welcome.
