Security and Quality Rollup for .NET Framework (KB4471987) Fails

Yes.

Using the .NET Collect Utility

  1. Download collect.exe and save to your desktop.
  2. Go ahead and run the tool
  3. The utility creates a compressed cabinet of all the needed logs to %TEMP%\vslogs.cab.
  4. Please zip/attach to this post or if too large, send using a service such as SendSpace.

The 4th one installed but then un-installed on reboot (tried 3 times).

The last one gave me:

I save the CBS folder & file:

Here is the good part, just for shits and giggles I ran Windows Updates and it went in. I rebooted and it ran update again and it reinstalled (I guess because KB4054530 installed with it the 1st time).

I again rebooted and ran Windows updates and it was gone.

Now if I could just get these two to install:

Thanks for your help and patience. Do you think we got it beat ?

This is extremely interesting and very helpful. Thank you for all the reports and screenshots. It appears that .NET stuff has indeed been successfully applied to your machine.

Please attempt only one of the Office updates and attach CBS.log after it fails.

I tried to repair from programs and features:
I pick change (only other choice is uninstall)

This pops up:(for 1 second)

Clipboard03.jpg

It disappears and then nothing happens. (I tried it a few times).
I can try to uninstall it, I just want to make a good backup and system image first.

So the error code is in fact correct. You Office installation does seem to be corrupt.

I would suggest backing up and then uninstalling Office completely and reinstalling it fresh.
