Hi,

Run Cleanmgr.exe and select only the option to clean Windows Update after the tool finish collect the CBS.log and Restart the computer.

I tried running that as both regular and Administrator and that option doesn't exist.

Hi,

Can you upload a fresh copy of the COMPONENTS file please.

Hi,

Thanks. Please run DISM /online /cleanup-image /startcomponentcleanup and attach the CBS.log

Install Update using Dism
  1. Please download KB4534271 http://download.windowsupdate.com/d..._a009e866038836e277b167c85c58bbf1e0cc5dc8.msu save the file to c:\windows\temp
  2. change the name of the update file to a smaller name windows10.0-kb4534271-x64.msu
(keep the extension .msu in the end of the file name in case its visible if not ignore that)
  3. open the Command Prompt as Administrator (Tutorial)
  4. type or Copy & Paste the following commands line by line:

    cd /d c:\windows\temp
    expand windows10.0-kb4534271-x64.msu -f:* C:\windows\temp
    DISM.exe /Online /Add-Package /PackagePath:C:\windows\temp\Cab_1_for_KB4534271.cab
    DISM.exe /Online /Add-Package /PackagePath:C:\windows\temp\Cab_2_for_KB4534271.cab

    DISM.exe /Online /Add-Package /PackagePath:C:\windows\temp\Cab_4_for_KB4534271.cab
    DISM.exe /Online /Add-Package /PackagePath:C:\windows\temp\Cab_5_for_KB4534271.cab
  5. You should receive the message:
    The operation completed successfully.
Restart Windows to complete this operation.
Do you want to restart the computer now (Y/N)?
  6. Make sure to allow the computer to restart if prompted.

If you receive any other message:
  7. Right-click on the Command Prompt window and click Select All, this will invert all of the colors by selecting the text, now press enter. All of this text is now copied.
  8. Paste (Ctrl+V) it into your next post please. [/B]

Note: If DISM fails please attach the CBS.log

The update installed. A reboot was not requested (just said operation completed successfully). I ran dism cleanup store and reset base as usual and it errored out. CBS log link:
CBS.log

There was only one very large cab file for that KB and that was the one that processed (it was called Windows10.0-KB4534271-x64.cab) fully without error. There was an additional small cab file called WSUSSCAN.cab which I didn't process because I couldn't tell if it was part of the extracted files or had just been sitting in my temp folder from something elses.

Sorry my mistake those big Windows 10 cab files are packed differently!

Please extract the big cab file:
expand windows10.0-KB4534271-x64.cab -f:* C:\windows\temp

then install the individual 5 cab files using DISM.exe /Online /Add-Package /PackagePath: instructions on post #36
