The operation completed successfully.

I have just tried to install IE11 and it said it had installed successfully, but I cannot reboot the server until tomorrow now.

I will post back tomorrow once I have rebooted and checked the IE version

Thanks

When you check under features, which version is listed? What happens when you install IE11 using its setup?

I would like you to try IE11 again and if it fails, attach a fresh copy of IE_main.log.

Hi,

It's not showing anything IE related under Features and showing as IE9 under installed updates with IE11 still available as an update.

What do you mean by "what happens when you install IE11 using its setup?" Do you mean using the standalone package?

Thanks

This is very helpful. Please try uninstalling IE9 under installed updates and attach CBS.log and IE9_uninst.log

And yes, I meant the standalone package, but don't do that yet.

The uninstall gave an error

IE9 Uninstall.PNG

I have uploaded the CBS logs, but I did a search for IE9_uninst and it doesn't exist

Thanks

Just to let you know I installed all updates except IE, rebooted then attempted to install IE10 & IE11

It failed with the following error

  2. Right-click on this file and select Extract All... Click the Extract button. You can close the folder window that opens
  3. Click on the Start button and in the search box, type Command Prompt
  4. When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator. Go ahead and allow if you receive the UAC prompt.
  5. Copy and paste the following command into the command prompt window and press enter.

    dism /online /add-package /packagepath:%userprofile%\desktop\Windows6.1-KB2706045-x64.cab
  6. You should receive the message:
    The operation completed successfully.
Restart Windows to complete this operation. <---You may not get this line.
Do you want to restart the computer now (Y/N)? <---You may not get this line.

Go ahead and do so if prompted. Let me know what errors if any come up. If you do get errors, please zip/attach your CBS.log

Ok so the package installed successfully, so I attempted to install the stand-alone version of IE11.

This said it was successful, so I rebooted even though I wasn't prompted to, checked the version of IE and it is still saying version 9

I have uploaded the logs for you

Thanks

Finally we have some progress!

I have managed to install IE10 plus the cumulative updates (I had to download these and install them offline as it failed through Windows updates)

I have had several attempts at installing IE11, both through WU and using the stand-alone installer, but each time it either fails (WU) or says it has succeeded, and after a reboot it still shows IE10 as the version

I have uploaded the logs for you

Thanks

Hi,

They are all installed except for KB2533623

I downloaded it and tried to install it, but it said that it wasn't applicable

Thanks
