Re: Server 2012 R2 - Windows Update error 80073712 (Store Corruption)

Please do the following.

Step#1 - SFCFix Script
Warning: this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.

  1. Download SFCFix.exe (by niemiro) and save this to your Desktop. If you still have this on your desktop from downloading previously, you don't need to re-download.
  2. Download the file below, SFCFix.zip, and save this to your Desktop. Ensure that this file is named SFCFix.zip - do not rename it.
  3. Save any open documents and close all open windows.
  4. On your Desktop, you should see two files: SFCFix.exe and SFCFix.zip.
  5. Drag the file SFCFix.zip onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it.
  6. SFCFix will now process the script.
  7. Upon completion, a file should be created on your Desktop: SFCFix.txt.
  8. Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of this file into your next post for me to analyse please

Re: Server 2012 R2 - Windows Update error 80073712 (Store Corruption)

Absolutely we are. Each fix I provide is for a different file. We are working our way through the errant update. Because it's a server I prefer not to take shortcuts. On a client machine I try to fix more than one file at a time.

Step#1 - SFCFix Script

Good! Do you have a feel for how far through we might be, or is it impossible to tell?

Also, this update is the monthly rollup so will be replaced soon with the next one. I assume we should continue testing this update? There are a couple of others which won't load, but it's the monthly updates I wants to get working as that's what will be needed in the future.

I have a pretty good idea. There is a potential of about 166 components within the update we are trying to work around. They are listed below.

Also, this update is the monthly rollup so will be replaced soon with the next one. I assume we should continue testing this update? There are a couple of others which won't load, but it's the monthly updates I wants to get working as that's what will be needed in the future.

I'm hoping to have this fixed before Tuesday of next week when the next cumulative update comes out. If not, we'll plan what to do at that time.

  2. Download the file below, SFCScript.txt, and save this to your Desktop.
  3. Save any open documents and close all open windows.
  4. On your Desktop, you should see two files: SFCFix.exe and SFCScript.txt.
  5. Drag the file SFCScript.txt onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it.
  6. SFCFix will now process the script.
  7. Upon completion, a file should be created on your Desktop: SFCFix.txt.
  8. Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of this file into your next post for me to analyse please

Thanks for that. I'm only available for some of this week so I don't know how many fixes I'll be able to apply. Let's see how it goes.

Re: Server 2012 R2 - Windows Update error 80073712 (Store Corruption)

Interesting....Looks like we fixed all the English components. Last fix was French and now it's looking for the German language pack component. I'll get that one and be back shortly. Looking at your registry there appears to be three more languages after German that we need to fix.

Re: Server 2012 R2 - Windows Update error 80073712 (Store Corruption)

Oh ok. The server doesn't have any other languages installed - just English (United Kingdom).
