[SOLVED] SFC corruption

That you can access the key without any errors mean that it is working properly.

Check for updates again and try installing them. Let me know if they fail, and if they do fail, then the error code

Ok, I checked for Windows Updates and only 2 were found. One of them was an old one (one of the 5 that had failed previously) and one was a new one. What happened to the other 4 updates that had failed previously?
I tried to install them and while they were downloading, I was browsing the net (e.g. reading your responses to this thread). The last time I had checked on them, the downloading was at 90%. After several minutes, while I continued to surf the net, my system froze. I wasn't able to check/verify whether the download and installation of the updates had completed or not. I had to force shut off my computer and restart, since it was locked up and I couldn't do anything. I booted it up again and checked for Windows Updates one more time. The same ones appeared. I tried to install them once again and this time they downloaded and installed completely. After they finished installing, I had to reboot and the system configured the updates before restarting.

I am still in Clean Boot Mode. Also, I never manually restarted the Windows Update Service, but I'm assuming it automatically did so when I restarted after restoring the repaired SOFTWARE hive using RegBack?

Checking for updates now (again) yielded 3 different updates for the same thing: Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 4.6.1 on Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 for x64

I'm about to try to install them next...

Alright, let me know if they install or not.

Yes

The updates that were failing were related to the .NET framework anyways, so once it can access the keys, they should install

Ok, the last 3 updates it found were installed successfully. Windows Update now says, "Windows is up to date". What now?

I honestly haven't used my desktop as much recently, since I've been really busy with work. However, in the limited time I've used it I have not experienced any other problems.
*Note - I am still in Clean Boot Mode.

Well that's a great news. You should want to go back to Normal Boot by following the Windows 7 and Windows Vista instructions on this page under How to reset the computer to start normally after clean boot troubleshooting, and then test things out for a few days

Well, after going back to Normal Boot mode (well, more like Custom since there are many programs I elected to remove from auto start) I rebooted my pc.
Then after doing some disk space and registry cleanup (using CCleaner), I rebooted once again.
After restarting the last time, I was surfing the net when I got a BSOD. This happened a few days ago and although it hasn't happened again yet, I am concerned that there is still something corrupt with my system.

Hello

A BSOD doesn't mean that there is something corrupt on your system. We repaired some corrupt files already. The BSOD could also result from bad driver, certain AVs, etc

If another BSOD happens, you would want to post back to the BSOD forums and they will take care of it again
