For the Software Hive, press on the Windows + R keys, type in Regedit and press on Enter. This will open the Registry Editor. Under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, right-click on SOFTWARE and select Export. In the Save as type dropdown list, select Registry Hive Files (*.*) and save the Hive somewhere accessible. Once done, upload it and PM me the download URL.
 
I tried the operation twice, both times I got the following error message Cannot export c:\software. Error writing the file. The maybe a disk or file system error.

I tired to save it to c:\ once and then to my e:\ drive. Same error message. I took a long time to complete the operation and the computer was unresponsive during this period. I have not yet tried this in safemode. Please let me know what I should try next. Thank you.
